Name: Karn Elmvale, son of Alphonse and Isabelle Elmvale
Karn is a tall man, standing slightly over six feet. His skin is slightly tanned from being outdoors and wrinkled from years of exposure to the elements with little regard to comfort. Most of his homely face is covered with a large brown beard. It never looks particularly groomed or cared for. He appears to have seen forty seasons, although in truth he is much younger. His arms and legs are heavily muscled and his chest is broad.
When he chooses to be seen, he often can be found walking through the Bramble. He carries a large spiked double-axe of orcish design. He wears leathers and furs of brown and a dark green cloak.
He speaks with a thick northern accent, and is slow to smile. The wrinkles of his brow tend to give him a slightly menacing look. Once he is familiar and comfortable with someone enough to speak freely, he can often be seen smirking and even offering a yellow-tooth grin.
Karn is proficient with the two-weapon fighting style common of rangers. In combat he often will try to flank an opponent by using his soft steps to gain the element of surprise or, if confronted directly, he will fight defensively by twirling his wickedly sharp axes then striking out with the wooden shaft, forcing the enemy back or even knocking them down completely. He uses a mixture of strength and agility as well as a keen intellect to best his enemies. If allowed to set up the battlefield before hand, the Ranger is capable of setting formidable traps, often disabling an opponent before the fight can even begin.
The ranger keeps a special hatred in his heart for certain enemies, and has trained long and hard to find the most effective way of dealing with them. Among these are the Goblinoid and Orc races. When confronted by them, he will often abandon his normally calm demeanor and strike at them with everything he can, often resulting in a total massacre well beyond what is necessary.
Karn wears the holy symbol of Gwaeron Windstrom, the Master Tracker, and deity of Rangers of the north. He will often pray for the safety of his friends as they traverse the wilds and for the blessings of his god to aid him in tracking his foes.
