OOC Note: This post is backdated to the day Amolus first set foot back in Isinhold(roughly 3/4 weeks ago):
A lone female Elf arrives in Isinhold, studying the area calmly she lets loose a sigh. nothing much has changed here she thinks. The first person she meets is a hin bard playing a rather depressing tune, sad, but it seemed to fit with her mood at the time, and he did play rather well.
She started talking to this Bard, gathering information, not much has changed she thought, but she was wrong. Cormyr, the land she once knew is different now, there has been two wars since she left, two wars, and she knew nothing of them, how could this be so? she thought. The land has been deeply scarred and separated.
Her thoughts drifted, back, and back, many years, how long has it been? Too long was her minds reply.
The City Redmist used to be her home, at the time she left it was still part of Cormyr. a Thriving, growing city. Not as Grand or as beautiful as Suzail, but it was home, and a home to be proud of. She had loving human parents. Not her real parents of course, but they were good to her, and she loved them dearly. She had no idea who her real parents were, and still do not to this day. Even when old age set in, and they were slowly dying, and she, she was still a young elf, she still loved them, and took care of them.
The end came peacefully, it was winter, and the snow that came was very heavy. It was a constant struggle to keep warm. They died together while they slept. When Amolus discovered the bodies she did not weep for them, though she was saddened at the loss, she knew the day was growing ever closer. That following morning she arranged for a burial in the local graveyard. after that she was gone.
Far and wide she traveled the land, not an adventurer by any means, just a young elf girl wanting to see places she did not have the opportunity to before. On the whole most of the people she met were quite hospitable, she was able to earn a nights stay at many an inn in exchange for doing menial work, cleaning, cooking, serving, things she had been good at when she had to look after her human mother and father in their later years of life.
The last place she traveled to was the Elven High Forest, she was led there by another Elf that she met while on her travels, a male Elf named Vesrodu. "No Elf should spend his or her entire life in cities" he said to her, "come, You must see this, at least once". Her curiosity got the better of her, and she allowed him to lead her to the High Forest.
Two and a half years she spent in the forest with Vesrodu. Here she learned many things, and also very little, She learned how to speak her racial language here, fluently for the first time in her life. She understood a little elven before but only enough to get by. She also learned how to shoot a bow properly, and how to wield a sword.
Perhaps her most interesting discovery was that when she was around her kin, she could feel a force around her, that she could not quite identify. It was a year later that she was discovered by another elf, one of the older wizards, he could somehow sense the weave around this young elf, whats more he did not know who this elf was. She was'nt an apprentice mage, he was sure of that, for he knew them all. He was also sure she was'nt a fully fledged mage, she was, something else.
He felt compelled to go up to this young elf, and tell her what he knew. She was confused at first, but she allowed this old elf to start her on the road to discovering her own power, a power that had laid dormant in her for quite some time, awakened, now that she was no longer under the influence of city life. Here is where she took her first step towards becoming a wizard herself.
As the months passed however she began to feel something else, something that was'nt so pleasant. Thoughts about her human parents, thoughts about Redmist and Suzail, and all the surrounding little towns and villages. She did not realize at first but she was getting homesick. In the end it was getting too much for her, the old wizard, and Vesrodu implored her not to go. She still had much to learn, she had not even scratched the surface of learning her elven culture, or even properly began her training as a mage, but in the end they could not stop her, instead they wished her luck and hoped that she would return someday. She promised that she would
Anyway, On she traveled, heading on the road directly to Cormyr, to find the home she once knew, changed, possibly forever, but not if she can do anything about it.
