At some point, Fiona would climb up onto a set of crates located in the center of the busy city streets in the slums. She’d dramatically throw her arms up in front of her, outstretched. Her red and black cloak flaps in the wind behind her, matching the colors of her talbard. Incidently, these are also the colors of Valkur's Roar city.
“People o’ Corymr, hear me!
Most o’ you know me by now. I am Fiona Lightfellow, betta’ known as the Ace o' Blades. I have fought in our armies. I have stood against the villains of our realm, even at great risk ta’ my person and reputation. I raised exorbitant amounts of money and equipment ta’ rebuild our cities battered by war, ta’ build you new schools, and ta’ help refugees who have lost so much durr’n war. I have walked your streets. I have listened to your pleas. I have seen some of you carry dolls in me’ own likeness. To ya’, I have listened and selflessly gave. Ya’ know me, and I stand with ya’ continually in support.
But, now I ask must ask /ya’/ ta’ listen to /me/ for a moment;
I have seen words of discontentment that has been written on our walls, I have heard what has been mumbled quietly in our alleys, and listened ta’ ya’ grumble angrily into yer’ cups. I unda’stand that Cormyr does not look as it did in years past, and that some of ya’ are angry because of this. Some of ya’ have lost and suffered. These are real problems, but they /can/ be fixed if we work together for a peaceable, sensible option. I have watched as yer’ honest concerns have been distorted by talks of revolution. I have seen how those who hate you, those same people who wish to bring you nothing but strife and anguish, subtly contrive your needs inta’ a fake, anti-foreigner Nationalism that ultimately gives you nothing. This is a path that will ultimately lead to blood against your own brotha’s and sista’s. Look to the men and women next ta’ ya’ and ask if that is what you truly seek.
As to your problems, soon there will be a council meeting right here in the heart of Valkur’s Roar. They will be discussing who will and will not be serving as councilors, lords, and ladies in the days to come. If it is in your heart to see things truly improved for you, your families, and your way of life, then write to yer’ councilors, remind them what I have done for you, and express your support. I will continue ta’ listen ta’ yer problems and hopefully be given the powa’ ta’ see ta’ them. Ask ta’ see Fiona Lightfellow as yer’ Guard Captain. Tell them you want /me/, representin’ /you/. Trade yer’ swords an' torches fer’ pen an' parchment - see yer’ wills be done! “
Fiona would give the speech a few times, and in different places in the city. She would attempt to gauge the citizens moods before and after these speeches.
