During the recent demonstration regarding foreign rule within Valkur's Roar, an horrific act was committed.
Within the south western quarter of the city a protester had made his way home, taking a short cut through an alleyway. Here he had met his fate in a most horrific fashion.
The man had been brutally disemboweled by a bladed weapon, the mangled body left strewn across the stone floor. The head had been taken along with all other items of value.
A small parchment was left pinned to the mans shirt.
"We "foreigners" are here to stay. Submit to our rule, or more death will follow."
A trail of bloody foot prints were left leading away a short distance from the scene before halting suddenly.

If the body had yet to be dealt with, as a member of the Valkur's Roar reserve, Fiona would arrange to have it transported to the mortician. She would ask the mortician if there can be any useful information gleaned from the remains. Later, she would ask around to see if anyone had seen anything regarding the incident.
If she finds anything, she would share the information with her superiors and the regular guards.

*The sergeant of the reserve guard, and paladin of The True known as Holance would just watch the protests. He also would take note of the different acts of vandalism and violence.
Holance would also patrol the roads and visit the Tipsy Imp often. Not for drinking, but for remaining visible as a deterrent. He gives some gold to the poor and shares his food with those who are hungry while he patrols the city and the surrounding areas.*

A short-haired red-headed woman was just taking her leave from a man in a red cloak outside the money changer, when a shouting and chanting mob started to flood her way. It seemed almost like a well-trained reflex if face of a howling crowd carrying torches, how quickly and smoothly she stepped off the road and started to engage Bron in an inconspicuous conversation while watching the crowd all the time from the corner of her eyes, wearing a distinct frown.

*letters are put up around the town, from anyone who would participate or have participated in the protests* "Join us in a vigil ceremony, a procession for the innocent man, Gabsrut Jelvin, who was butchered for his legal beliefs by the government of Valkur's Roar. He who leaves us with three children and wife at the mercy of their god and the powers that be of the once so proud Valkur's Roar"
the day after, a monk clad in a long brown cloak and hood leads a procession of any who are willing to attend. The procession is humbly decorated, at its center is the casket of the man, drapped in red flowers. NPCS/PCS may hold out banners describing the atrocity, the 'occupation', as it is once or twice written in red paint over a canvas sign, or any other position they so seem fit to protest. They traverse the whole of the city before coming to a conclusion at his burial site.
//assuming it all works as written
//Dramus is no where in sight, because he's not stupid.

In a bad mood already, and forced to walk through Valkurs Roar to Shallybrook by a caravan merchant with a poor sense of humor, Seamus sees for himself what he has only heard in rumors; signs calling for revolution, bloody hand prints in various places, and generalized chaos. Near one of the hand prints, he can be seen writing on the wall, with a marker of magic black paint.
"Have you forgotten already how the Crown saved this city from the rule of tyrants, the influences of Thay, and the attacks of dragons. If your so foolish as to start killing in the name of revolution, you will find that my blade will oppose you." Seamus
As an afterthought he writes below "(I'll pay the City of VR a vandalism fine for clean up of this, later)"

Another horrific murder in the alleyways of Valkur's Roar!
The victim is found at his doorstep, mangled, with his head gone and his valuables stolen. He was well known to his fellow demonstrators and even attended the funeral of one of their own just a couple of days ago. But the true horror is what one finds once entering his home: two children dead with a gash at their throats; his wife stabbed from behind and apparently left to bleed to death. There are notes on each of the bodies. "We 'foreigners' are here to stay. Submit to our rule or more death will follow."

A priest, who shares the same god and beliefs as the victims, leads a procession of coffins. Two large, side by side, and two small, side by side. The priest swings a scenser left and right, smoke billows from it and places a sweet, lovely smell as he goes by. There are others there, courageous ones for these times in accompaning another protestor to his grave. All are welcome to attend the vigil (some possible signs being carried are: Child Killers, We've traded one tyrant for another, Oppressors, End the Occupation, Justice, They kill those who oppose them even your children, May our voice never be silenced, etc) The procession passes through the entire city before coming to a close at the family's burial site. Many weep, even strangers, for the children slaughtered.
(dms discretion if this happens as it is written)

Morgaine a foreigner begins to patrol the streets, sometimes invisibly and sometimes seen thanks to potions and she watches over those that she knows protested. Her inquisitors pin easily visible when she can be seen. When she is not invisible, she speaks softly to those that protest foreign rule, "I am a foreigner but I am now one of your and your protection is my duty. I support your right to speak for one to represent you on the council, you should have it and if foreigners are killing you, then us foreigners that have come here to help this good city should be protecting you." She will listen as much as speaks and "I will personally deliver any requests for local representative if you pick a good one to the authorities. Let any that would hunt you, come through me first." her armor, cloak and shield with the symbols of Torm stand out boldly. She knows her duty to support good government, root out corruption and investigate and stop murders.

A woman dressed in dark red leathers and chain mask stands atop the walls looking down and inwards at the bustle of city life. She moves slowly between vantage points, giving her a fair view of things. Her eyes twitch as she takes note of the passing vigil and she spreads a vile smile across her painted lips. A cruel chuckle emits from beneath her chain mask as the smaller coffins pass by. As the days continue on, she keeps watch of further activity. She notes the faces and movements of guards, protesters and city officials. She makes no attempt to speak to anyone and tries to keep a low profile at all times, face hidden and in disguise.

In the far reach of Eagle's Peak, Tal may or may not have heard the news regarding... given the distance of things.
If not, then he continues recuperating, occupying his time with the continued study of architecture.
If news would reach him, then a somber mood would follow... though in retrospect, it was to be expected.

Stan Redder, a guardsman serving in the Valkur's Roar Guard for nearly six months, and lifetime resident of the city, was found brutally murdered on this cold morning of the 15th of Deepwinter in the Year of the Lost Keep. His body was discovered by a local vineyard worker during a delivery into the city shortly after several other locals noted an unnatural darkness in the area. Guardsman Redder had been serving at his regular post near Councilman Huntsilver's property when he was attacked. His head was savagely hacked from his body, and was not found at the scene. The first guards on the scene noted the flesh looked jagged, as though done with a blade or blades not intended for slashes, nor less cleaving. A graying of the skin at the neck, and abnormal blackening of the blood on the stump quickly entered into local rumor as unnatural elements of the attack. Aside from damage to the neck, the body appeared unharmed. A bloodied note was found rolled and stuffed into the Guardsman Redder's clenched right hand between his grip with his halberd. In an elegant hand, it read: The Cormyrian Loyalist Alliance can not be silenced by empty gestures of good faith and platitudes from the council. Even as we speak they conspire to bring further foreign influence into their ranks. We have been trodden upon, and so shall they! We have shed blood, and so shall they! Our voices are not heard, so louder and louder we shall scream until the crown itself cannot deny us!
Due to the threat made against the city and the council, Councilman Huntsilver's property was immediately secured and thoroughly searched. Guardsman Stan Redder is survived by his wife Julie and their two young daughters. As Redder had become a devout follower of Helm the Vigilant One in recent years, his wife seeks to have him Resurrected by a priest of that faith. Arrangements have been made for his body to be interred locally until funds for a Resurrection spell have been raised. // PC-driven murder overseen by Munroe and posted to this thread by player request.

Morgaine considers and goes to the family. "I am not of the helm faith but Torm respects those that died doing their duty. I have a scroll with a resurrection spell that any priest of helm may use. I make it available in hopes that perhaps he will remember something before his death that this can be prevented from happening again."
She will redouble her efforts to catch even a hint as to a clue as to who is responsible though she suspects the Banites or Cyricists just trying to spread strife. She will also do her best to listen to the issues and concerns of the people so she can bring those concerns to the council and insure they are discussed even if she is a foreigner. Valkur's roar is now her home and she will listen to her people to help meet their needs.
//Please have dm contect me when I am on as Morgaine Kri Chya and I will provide the scroll.

*An Armored Man is seen leaving a note in several visible locations around the slums, the note reads clearly in the common script.*
Deceiver, Betrayer. This Cormyrian 'Loyalist' Alliance targeted the very people that they claim to fight for. How many families knew Stan Redder as a friend? He is a common man of the city who lived under the same acclaimed 'foreign rule'. Striking a guardsmen only trying to do his duty does not fight against foreign leadership. I knew Stan Redder.
'Loyalist Alliance?' I'm coming for you.

*Delfin would continue his walk around Valkur's Roar. He would speak to those of the recent murders, looking for anything that could aid him. He would read the notice left and continue on considering all the matters at hand, looking for anything that would offer insight into all that is happening. His eyes and ears, understanding of the Arcane, and histories he has been researching would be utilized.*
