The vast Chondalwood, locally known as "Satyrwood" of the Vilhon Reach provided much of Navaren's early life with fun and adventure. Being the son of a Ranger of the Chandath Crown, he learn the survival skills necessary to keep himself alive as well as the respect and dignity of the noble minded. Harvesting grapes on the low slopes of the mountains to the East, brought him an appreciation of what abundance the great lands could offer. Watching the training of horses by his father and uncle for Knights of Chandath, gave him a yearning to ride his own great steed some day. The time spent learning to trap and hunt with his keen eyed father provide a great degree of conditioning to his body and the focusing of his mind in the ways of combat.
Though it was the patient temperance of calm prayer and meditation of his devout mother, Navaren began to find that his path in life. Her stories of lore and history of the Great Lord of Noble Beasts...Lord Firemane...The Lion King Nobanion enriched his soul. Eager to proclaim his reverence for Nobanion...Navaren dyed much of his garbs with the earthen colors of green, brown and golden tan, much like the colors his father's hunting gear.
Through devout study of ancient scrolls provided in the northern Capital City of Arrabar, Navaren began to discover a facility with them. Committing to memory the blessing passages of Nobanion. After rigorous study...Navaren made a pilgrimage to the City of Nathlekh on the far west side of the Gulthmere Forrest, on the banks of the Lake of the Long Arm. There he was greeted by the holy clerics of the wemics of the Shining Plain. They escorted him deep into the forest to the village of Gurnth. Here the most devout followers of Nobanion live and pray at the Machran Spire.
His communion there among the lammasu kindled with in him such a life changing epiphany that he requested to be indoctrinated into the Roaring Avengers. This is the chapter of holy warrior knights that are devoted to championing Nobanion's teaching and defending against Malar and his allies. The Elders looked deep into Navaren's heart and saw that his devotion and pureness of deed could not be disputed. Making an eternal oath to the commanding principles of Nobanion....Navaren was blessed with in the temple...The Pride of Nobanion...where cats of all manner of size and distinction, surrounded him as a sign of his allegiance to Lord Firemane.
From there he returned to his home village of Elbulder. His village sits on the divide of the Arran River and intersected by The Old Road, running north to south from the City of Shamph through The Satyrwood. There he was greeted by many well wishers and very proud parents.
Soon after his return, he was asked by the village's horse breeder to accompany a large shipment of horses destined for the realm of Cormyr. When asked how this shipment is to be purchased...the breeder informed him that they will be paid in gold bars stamped with a the Cormyrian Crest of a The Lion. Taking this as a Omen from Nobanion, he graciously excepted the honored task and traveled to Cormyr by ship to see that the steeds safely exchanged. Here he decided to strike out his own and see just what makes this land revere the feline with such a degree of seriousness.
