Storm,
I have finally arrived to the small town of Isinhold in the western frontier of Cormyr. I am sad to report that Halstrom was lost during our travel through the Stormhorns from an attack by a large band of orcs that were cunningly lead by a huge ogre.
Isinhold is typical of the kinds of villages that you would find in the Western Heartlands except that the shadow of King Azoun's death hangs over the local populace. Also after further investigation this small village has many hidden dangers of its own.
A man in the local Inn asked me to find a missing family pendant that he lost in an old well and apon investigating the well I discovered a series of tunnels under the village populated with extraplanar creatures.
In the Inn, called the Regal Griffon, I was asked to remove a rat infestation from the cellar. These rats were large but proved to be only somewhat of an annoyance. It was when I delved deeper into their tunnels that I encountered several rat-men and had to flee due to there overwhelming numbers.
I visited a temple dedicated to Sylvanus and learned from the clergy that the local crypt is overrun with undead. I entered the catacombs and battled with all types of undead. I nearly cleared the entire level and found a stairway down until I was forced to retreat by a foul ghoul.
As you can tell, I must atempt to recruit others to join me in these different dangers to have a chance to cleanse the area.
As for my serch for the local Harpers, I have discovered nothing.
