Friân was born in 1349 in the village of Ewén, in the Silver Marches. The youngest of five children, Friâns mother Malael died during childbirth. The boy wasn’t breathing and nobody thought that he would survive, but thanks to what some call a miracle, he lived. Growing up, Friân exuded a spiritual holiness about him that touched everyone around him. His father Dwenn, being a pious man in the church of Tyr, brought him to the local Tyrran monastery, which was a chapter the Knights of the Merciful Sword. They saw potential in the boy, and at 8 years old, he was by far the youngest they ever took in.
Over the years he learned the lessons of combat, but more importantly the lessons faith, and humility. Not too long ago, the order heard the call for crusaders to champion the cause of good in Cormyr. To fight back the evil orc horde that has rampaged this once noble country. Friân is one of many Merciful Swords to be sent to Cormyr to aid in this fight.
