This is almost all OOC knowledge, though a few PCs have heard bits and pieces of his history (including at least one that knows the story of Myth Drannor). Khagan's prone to telling stories of his exploits when drinking, including his time as a sewerjack in Baldur's Gate, an advisor to a mage in Chult, and (just the once) his ill-fated venture into Myth Drannor.

Khagan (of Clan Shieldwing)
Clan Shieldwing takes its name, like many dwarf clans, from its patron and founder. In this case, it was founded by Teel Shieldwing, herself a daughter of the Clan Ironbrow. Her name was earned when she flung her shield like a discus more than 60 feet into the eye of a frost giant, killing it outright.
Khagan has spent perhaps a third of his three hundred years living with Kin in Citadel Adbar. He left when he was 45, young for a dwarf, to find the grand adventure that he knew was looking for him. He would spend the next two hundred years wandering Faerun as a Paladin of Gorm, even making his way to such places as Chult and Rasheman. His long experience has earned him a wealth of information on the creatures he's come into conflict with (including a few that do not exist in Faerun), and a large but motley assortment of factoids one wouldn't really expect a Paladin to know, including the average weight of a human head. After a rather disastrous foray into Myth Drannor, Khagan retired from adventuring and Paladinhood. He returned to Citadel Adbar, where he met his wife and proceeded to spawn seven children, which is the most noteworthy of his accomplishments. His wife having died recently, Khagan once more took to the road to visit a friend in the south. Passing through Cormyr, the border guard enlisted his aid in fighting goblins, and Khagan began to feel a long forgotten stirring in his heart.
Taking this new stirring as the lust for one last grand adventure, he made his way into Isinhold, though lately he has begun to wonder if his calling stems from more than his own heart...
