The red-head Tempurian begins to be a common sight in the poor section of town these days. Much of her down-time is initially spent talking with people and attempting to get an idea of the social climate there; who do people talk about? ~What~ do they talk about? Who is the most destitute? Who has the best bread recipe?
She also tries to make herself helpful. For example, if a man complained about a leaky roof, shed show up the next day with some wood and nails and do the patch work herself. She does give hand-outs, but usually follows up such gifts with questions like "Where do you work? Are you happy there? Is there something you rather be doing?" and will make efforts to help people improve their general condition given the time and energy that's available to her. People who have been dealt a bad-hand seem to find a sympathetic ear in her.
The Ace of Blades has a lot of free-time lately, and it looks like shes spending it here.

Time and again, the scarred Sellsword Merrigan comes around, offering sarcasm, scowls and very rarely a bit of a helping hand, if it won't stain his clothing. Though he never has words, money, or food to share with the common folk.

Fiona would downplay the attitude by telling people Morrigan is a jilted lover, who doesn't like having to share Fiona with the masses.
"He doesn't like to show it, but hes a teddy-bear deep down inside"
Ultimately, she doesn't let the negativity disrupt what she is doing.

The red-headed Tempurian would shift her questioning a little after a time;
"If there was funding for it, would you want more schools? What would they teach?" "Do you need more healers here? Is health care accessible?" "How is crime? Do they need more guards?"
Ultimately, the line of questioning follows a lot of "What if" questions to determine what the citizenry would like to see if there was money and political will in the city to have it done.
Meanwhile, she begins to set aside coin from her own adventures and makes it known she is collecting donations on behalf of the city.

After hearing of Fiona's effort, Joric in his spare time would wander the slums doing his own bit to "help" out. Even going so far as rigging up a sort of see saw made from a barrel and a plank for the children to play - whilst taking the time to "chat-up" single mothers. Despite this his efforts of making life even slightly more comfortable for the poor folk would be sincere and he'd offer a helping hand and an ear to any who need it.

A young lady begins to turn up quite frequently in slum areas of the Roar. Giving her name simply as Isabel, she spends most of her time chatting with people, often offering her assistance with whatever concern or chore they are working on should they be busy. Always with a bright smile and genuine warmth for the people about her. As people grow more accustomed to her, she often brings with her boxes full of a wide variety of fresh fruit, which are left about for people to help themselves.
Children in particular get her undivided attention and any parents wishing a hand with child-minding need only hint. She enters into games and play with little dignity, great enthusiasm, and often singing — the alphabet song seems to be a favourite of hers — and she encourages any child to sing along with her.
After her initial forays, oft-times her conversation will turn to what life is like for those living in Valkur's Roar, and how people feel about their lives, their hopes, and their dreams for the future. Topics touched on can include ~ How do they feel about approaching the local temples for healing and spiritual help? ~ Would a local apothecary find themselves in high demand? ~ Is there enough fresh fruit available? ~ Do parents wish they had access to schooling for their children? ~ What about apprentice opportunities? ~ Is there a lot of sickness in the community? ~ How many shelters are about? ~
While her interest in the community is warm and genuine her interest in the happiness of the individual is equally strong, and she listens with gentle empathy to those willing to share their stories and concerns, both great and small.

*As the Commoners of the Slums grow more used to the outside aid from minor medical attention to small donations to simple help working from place to place, many commoners have started calling their aid by name and wishing for continued well-being of Fiona, Joric, Kiki, Isabel, and others that pass through; however, as the aid is rendered some of the pressing problems in the slums become more apparent.*
"Eh? Well, as for ailments we've been doing quite a bit better since those Ilmateri have come to the city. They've been wanderin' the streets and offering aid to anyone that needs it, hells, their High Priest even performed a Miracle and cured my Mother's Sight. She's been blind for nigh on ten years!" *A young man in the Slums*
"An Apothecary? Hm. Well, we can't really afford anything except minor healing potions and tonics, and the rare occasional first aid healing kits from Keofar, but they've always been very expensive. Although, with the new High Priestess getting settled, I'm sure some of those things will change within the next year. She's always around here with her friends to offer aid if we need it. Good lass, that one. *An Elderly gentleman*
"Huh, well, I'm off duty from my usual job as a guard, have been for the past year to raise my first child, she's a beauty, ain't she? And my husband and most of our neighbor's husbands if they can find the work go to work on the farmlands when it's planting season if the farms need extra hands, or occasionally he gets a short term job as a logger workin' for Master Huntsilver. We're happy enough to have a roof over our heads, and make enough to get by. More fortunate than some folks though." *A young woman*
"--as I wuz sayin' yeh, iffin ya wantsta helps da slumser I be thinkin' ats what ya needs tae deh, yeh know wutz uh'm sayin'? Free booze fer evrbodeh." *Drunken Youth*
"Schools? Well, we used to have a small public schoolbuilding, but it was shut down when the schoolmistress couldn't pay the month's rent to that ole Henry Sleff. I suppose most people would send their children to school if it was still there, but then again, a lot of people need the children to take on jobs to feed the family. My kids? Well, they're taught mostly by myself or my sister when she stays with us since her husband died." *A middle aged woman in the slums*

He'd also check up on the middle aged woman and her family, offering to help out with day to day chores. Bearing gifts - two loaves of bread and a freshly killed boar, skinned and gutted and ready to cook. He'd also ask her questions like "Would you send your children there if it was reopened ma'am?" "Are your children working at the moment?" "If so, how often?"

A tall healer appears to visit Valkur's Roar once a month and only then when guarded by two heavily-armed members of his order. He seems extremely tired but cheerful as if other concerns are pre-occupying him - efforts he renders are directed at supporting his colleague based downstairs in Talbots Inn and he appears to deliver supplies on a regular basis and this arrangement seems to have been going on for some time. Seeing and hearing of so much help directed at the city, he appears pleased and content at the kindness being shown.

Fiona would probably spend time helping Joric find this headmistress and seeing if shed like to eventually return to work. The redheaded Tempurian would be very interested in knowing how she ran her school priorly and what pitfalls became of it. Was the school just poorly funded? Was the rent too high? What other problems did it have?
For the moment, Fiona doesn't answer a lot of questions about how the school works, but only reminds folks that its "Not ~just~ for children" and that "No one is forcing people who have kids they ~need~ around the house to go to school" instead "It is merely an option for people who don't otherwise have any. Do you want to learn to read? Go to the school. Would you rather do something other than panhandling? Go to the school. Don't have work for the season? Go to the school. Do you have no place to send your kids while you are working around the docks? Send them to the school".

Padrin makes his way into the slums of the city with a box in each arm. He sets up on a corner in the street and props up a sign that reads:
"May the children enjoy themselves and fuel their creative side.
Children, take freely from these boxes and enjoy."
The boxes are filled with various dolls, balls, windpipes, old lures, and playing cards. Nothing of serious value.
The druid then makes his way south of the city and offers a blessing over the crops. Any farmer that would approach him he would greet politely, discuss the crops and an estimated time to harvest them, which would usually end up being within a month and a few weeks.

*As efforts continue to thrive, children can be seen playing and chasing each other in the streets. Most of the people of the slums seem happy about this new development and offer praise and thanks to Padrin for the gifts, but occasionally, an older gentleman or beggar can be seen watching the children with regret, or sadness at their own inability to provide some of the same gifts of their own accord.*
*After much searching among the crowd, a middle aged woman is once more approached and questioned about the old schooling* "Hm. My son works a farely full-time job since his father passed away two winters ago of that fever. My younger children work around helping with laundry, shoe shining, or letter-delivering once or twice every week. As for the old schools, well, the rents have never been easy, but it was also that the headmistress desired to have the school open so all might attend, but then, she struggled to fund the school off of the renting out of books from a small library she operated, but it was never easy. Especially since the library was very small and she could never afford to add new books to the collection, I am not sure whatever happened to Mrs. Navren, there was some rumors that she lost her home after she lost the schoool, she lost her home. Last I heard she went to go stay with the Frain Family out on Huntsilver's land.

Fiona would talk to her about the project and ask her for advice. She would also find out if she would be interested in her old job back. "Dont worry about the money", Fiona would assure. This is assuming Fiona is able to find her, of course.

The next morning Kiyohime can be seen approaching the ilmateri currently residing at Skatterhawk's lands. She makes a point to politely greet the High Priest before inquiring about acolyte Jenna's whereabouts. Kiyo informs them she was assigned by the High Priestess to escort the acolyte whenever she feels necessary.
Most days a tenday, she can be seen following Jenna around as the priestess helps the commonfolk. Kiyo keeps a very professional demeanor, only speaking when spoken to, but offering assistance in any way Jenna might need.
Mostly important, as they go about their business, Kiyo keeps her eyes and ears peeled for anything of note she might see or hear about the recent murders.

To the quick, observant eye, a large bird can be regularly seen most evenings circling high above the slums. It seems to be searching for something in particular.

Fiona takes the late shift and personally patrols in the slums to help assure things are kept in order. She coordinates with the other guards in their movements in an effort to regularly comb every street in the slums at random intervals. She doesn't keep the same route, and sometimes turns around in the middle of a patrol and doubles back. The movements are kept random so that they can't be tracked and to assure than a person looking to aviod detection will have no obvious windows of opertunity

The donation money collected for the poor in the slums finally has been given in trust to the city, with the expectation they will build schools and meanfully improve the quality of life in the region.
((Thanks to everyone who participated in this movement and the resulting RP that grew from it!!))
