Katessa will be there with bells on. Figuratively, of course. I don't know a place in the game to buy actual bells.

You could use those "Gond Bells" baring actual ones, I suppose

Alright, no one showed up to the last class - thats fine, it was a bit last minute and player participation on the server has been a little lower lately. I was planning to make post anyways so those of us who play at different times can communicate and discuss ideas together.
First of all, Ive noticed that people prefer the one-on-one classes over the group ones. The one-on-one's have the flexibility of time and have the advantage of being personal. The group classes let us meet each other and capture the feeling of feeling like they are apart of something. I like having both because each one has advantages over the other.
What I'd like to do is have a discussion about the kinds of things we'd like to get out of this. Most people come to one or two classes so they can say "Im training with Fiona" I think, but weve had a few diehards who have used this as a way to interact with me over and over again - Whatever the motivation, I like that it promotes RP and I would like it to continue to do so.
I have sent a formal reply to the DM team about having a school actually built and placed onto the server, but I want to see that interest in this continues so its an area that will be put to use, and won't collect cobwebs. I want this to remain a non-faction, however, and more to the spirit of the GG Vols, or the Reserves in Valkur's Roar, that way people who want to participate don't feel "locked" into a guild.
With that being said, what else do people want to see?
Someone mentioned ranks to me before. Do we want this? How would that work? How elaborate do we want that to be? "Student, Master, Grandmaster" or do we want a belt system like my karate class? How would belts be decided? Levels? RP? Both? Something else?
Another idea discussed was "achievements" people could earn, such as "A stripe on your belt" for "Doing over 50 damage with a practice weapon on a wooden dummy" or a pin for "Winning a tournament". What else would like to see?
Tal02 mentioned that those of us willing to make acts can make weaponmasters who support the school, in a similar vein to what the "Summer of Hins" are doing. Is there interest in this? Should we have rules, I.E. (Everyone must pick one unique weapon) etc.
What does everyone think?

Holance might attend to some classes in order to advance further into his own path. I like the idea of individual classes with Fiona too.
Holance's view of mastering weapons is somewhat different though. He is amining to develop his own "style" while Fiona said to him that she approached her training as mastering all styles.

//was thinking something on the side, that since Fiona is an epic Weapon Master, might be cool to have rp items the master could give out to her students as a sign of the school they learned from (like a scroll or rp medallion or something)

I'm going to have to assume by the lack of conversation being held here that this is now a somewhat uninteresting idea. The last class had a zero turn out. Not too many people are asking me for classes IC anymore either.
But then again, the server participation, in general, has been on the low end too - so maybe the issue is something else entirely.
Fiona will continue to teach classes on request - but the big ones might have to wait until we see more interest once more.
Perhaps I can do the ol' "I'm looking for dedicated apprentices" bit for a while - characters who are looking to really walk this path.

Ok, so, after my post I received more than a few PMs about ~personal~ interests. Perhaps a "school" is interesting to people still, just on an individual basis. Do express your interests publicly though - it lets people know that this isn't a dead idea.

Public comments let self starting event role players understand that there is such an interest. Pendantry and myself held a player run event awhile back and had no clue what turnout would be. Turnout was really good, but we put two roleplay sessions that lasted several hours into prep for it and no idea how turnout would be. This is not a complaint, just a consideration.

i think an area with maybe some meditative and removed feel to it would be need. not a guild, but a player group area where one can learn and train from other weapon masters to an "eye of the tiger" song playing in the background ((dont mind building a sample))

Maybe a "weapons stand" we're we can get training weapons that do no damage, and enough room to fight and spar - and maybe a little place for Fiona to sleep in.

I really enjoyed the weapon classes. Even managed to get my druid involved. There was always good rp going on and for me, it was always about the rp. These classes gave weapon masters a good reason ic for their improvements in their fighting mechanics.
It's unfortunate that we can't always make them and often I found that other character plots often conflicted with the time at which the class was being held.
I encourage anyone to get involved with either the personal classes or if Fiona holds the public ones again. They offer a great range of ideas with how combat is handled in a rp sense and being able to feed off of everyone's different rp styles is also it's own reward. It also allows characters to branch out and meet other toons that aren't part of your "clique".

Pads is so right, I wanted to get to more with mirrir but the timing has meshed up badly with other things for me! Fionas classes are awesome, mirmir still puts them out IC to people, and i definitely encourage folks ooc to consider them too. they're great for meet and greet, and the rp is super solid!

Well, the classes were put on hold for a bit, due to Fiona's imprisonment and other plots, but if there is still real interest in it, then I can make accommodations. Right now, people just have been seeking her out to do solo one-on-one classes, which works fine for me too.
As far as I know there was supposed an actual school in the works, but I havent heard anything about that in a great while.
