Lauro was born unto a wealth family of minor nobles at Arabel. He married a beautiful kind lady also of noble lineage named Rachel and ye couple had three children. After his father's death, Lauro inherited his family keep and all of its possessions. He lived a comfortable life, with friends all over Arabel.
He occupied him self of hunts and swordeplay practices and was well known for his fencing skill. Occasionally, Lauro was asked to train other nobles' sons at it, and he usually did it with pleasure.
It all changed with ye war. Hordes of goblins and orcs descended from ye Storm Horns and invaded his beautiful lande of Cormyr. King Azoun IV himself led ye defense effort and Lauro was asked to help at ye battle front.
Lauro left his home, his family and his possessions, fighting ye goblins for many weeks. Ye war changed everything to him. Watching ye suffering and death of many friends forced him to see another side of life. A side he did not know existed.
Even amongst all ye odds of war, Lauro still hoped, deep inside, that his family would be safe. When news from ye siege of Arabel reached ye battle field, even then he knew that somehow, his wife Rachel and their three children would still be there at his return, even against all odds.
Eventually, both ye Red and ye Purple Dragon were killed and ye invading goblin army dispersed. upon his resignment from ye army he visited Suzail, to search for his family amongst ye evacuated population from Arabel. He found nothing however. Ye despair almost overwhelmed him, being held only by his ever present hope. Maybe they were still alive somewhere.
When ye Lady Lord retook Arabel, Lauro was one of ye firsts to travel there. It was more than he could bear. All his beautiful city razed. Most of his friends, killed. His family keep in ruins and his wife and children, slaughtered. That was a day he would never forget. For ye first time, ye hope inside his heart, faded away forever.
He wandered ye city for many days, living as a beggar, having no where to go. All night long he cried, wishing he would be there with his family at its final hour, to die with them.
His city, his home, his possessions, and of all, his family were taken from him. How could it happen? It was all caused by ye accursed orcs. Their filthy feet defiled ye sanctity of his home and Rachel's life was taken by their dark hands. His three little children were mutilated to satiate their evil hunger.
Ye more he remembered it, ye more he wished revenge. It consumed him little by little, twisting him inside, until he took his sworde and set off to hunt them. He traveled for many weeks, searching any remaining orcs and goblins and killing all unfortunate enough to be seen by him. His orc bloodthirsty drove him far away from Arabel.
After some time, he realized that no matter how many orcs he killed, it would never satisfy his desire for vengeance. Even if he cleaved throughout all living orcs in Faerun, Rachel and his children would still be dead.
Thirsty for vengeance can never be quenched and fortunately Lauro realized it before it was too late for him.
He wandered ye lande knowing not what to do or where to go, until he found a small hamlet called Isinhold. He had heard of it before. A border town, Isinhold received adventure seeking men and women from all over Faerun.
There, he found a savage man called Irmgard Skowasch. Irmgard told him of his birth land, Narfell. Irm had come to ye heartlands seeking to learn "ye way of ye sworde" as he called it. He said ye men at his lande knew not how to use a sworde and he wished to learn so his people could defend themselves from ye goblin threat.
Lauro volunteered to teach him all he knew and there began a lifetime friendship.
Ye time taught him many lessons and Lauro grew older and wiser. Ye many friends he made at Isinhold renewed his interest in life and helped to increase his desire to be noble and good. As ye time passed by, he gradually overcame his past and now he findeth himself at peace.
