Cald looks as though he spent a good many years at sea. He has weathered grayish brown hair and lamb chop side burns that compliment his piercing blue eyes. He would be a rather stunning person to look at had not his face been leathered and aged by the the wind, sun, and sea.
Cald is of average build and average height (5'11"). He has a slight hunch that he got when he hurt his back while showing off his diving abilities to his shipmates. He laughs heartily when asked about it and claims, "that from a height of a 60' mast, water is as hard as stone."
Although hardened by the elements he is still agile, strong, and surprisingly healthy despite his drinking problem. Cald usually has a bottle of rum close at hand and reeks of alcohol and pipe tobacco.
History:
Cald Waynolt comes from a broken family in Aglarond. His mother died while he was at a very young age, and his father was man of the seas and hardly around while growing up. He feels no affection with him and sometimes wonders whether his father is still alive or down in the depths of the Sea of Fallen Stars.
Cald Waynolt is a worshiper of Valkur the deity of the water and protection. He is a weathered salty dog from Algarond that served on a merchant vessel of the Sea of Fallen Stars. Cald has had many years of nautical experience and served with a fleet that has had very little interaction against pirates due to the strong and organized navy that protects the waters of the Sea of Fallen Stars around Aglarond. Despite the protection, Cald can recount of two such engagements in which his vessel was attacked by pirates and they had to defend themselves. He has lost three good shipmates to these raiders and swears all pirates to their watery graves.
The loss of his shipmates and long stints at sea has introduced Cald to the bottle, preferably rum, but any spirit will do.
After many years Cald has left the seas and lands of Aglarond in search of something new to quench his restless path. During his last voyage to Suzail located in the bay of The Dragonmere, Cald got off the boat and headed to the local tavern seeking another naval merchant outfit. The next thing he knew he woke up in some town that was landlocked. Now he is searching for answers on what has happened since his blurry night in Suzail.
