Tar Benner grew up in a monastery in the far far south. He studied the physical arts and grew quite good at them, but never spent much time learning about the other subjects. He could surprise you with a fact or two at times, but usually he defers to others more knowledgeable.
His teachers told him that he's learned all they can teach and that the best instruction now is to travel the lands, and to truly experience what life is like for people in other lands.
He has another burning reason for travel....he has always wanted to learn of his parents. His lighter skin clearly marked him as not from the south, he has tracked a distant relation - Mano Benner to Isenhold and hopes to learn from him any information he can about his parents. In his heart of hearts he feels that they are still alive and hid him to the far south for his own good, but he feels cheated that he was never able to meet them or know what kind of people they were.
