Ok folks, I am looking for lore for three reasons on Velsharoon.
1) I am curious and would like to know more than the FR wiki has to say. 2) I need it for an RP idea 3) This gives a chance to have input to RP and allows others a vested interest in the RP.
Thanks for the input folks.
So, I know all of what the FR wiki has to say, I am an old school player of PnP meaning almost exclusivly 1st edition.. some second and very very little 3rd edition knowledge. So, I need help lol.

The 2nd edition book about the deities (Faiths and Avatars?) is pretty great and has more interesting 'fluff' than the 3rd edition one. It is my "go-to" source. See if you can get yourself a copy, if not, lemme know.
(Not helpful at all, I know, but my knowledge of him is meh. Just the stuff everyone knows.)

There's a ton of information on the Cult of the Dragon in Lords of Darkness, too, it might have a little more on The Vaunted. Libris Mortis has information on undead deities, but I think they're gods that actual undead follow, not the Vaunted.

Libris Mortis isn't Forgotten Realms-specific, so it has a pantheon of undead deities that mostly don't exist in Forgotten Realms. (Doresain The Ghoul King exists as a fiendish entity that serves Yeenoghu, and Orcus is listed as a lesser deity in Faiths and Pantheons, on the Monster Deities Table.) Libris Mortis makes no mention of Velsharoon.

I 'did' qualify my statement. I re-quoted that part in bold in case it was missed. Just letting him know he didn't need to check Libris Mortis for info on The Vaunted since he's not listed in it, and clarifying a bit the applicability of the other deity info in it. It was not meant to be an attack on what you said. Libris Mortis: The Book of Undead is actually one of my favorite D&D supplements. I keep it beside of my PC along with the three core rulebooks (PHB, DMG, MM), Rules Compendium, Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, Faiths and Pantheons, Player's Guide to Faerun, The Grand History of the Realms, Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave, Spell Compendium, Heroes of Horror, and Expedition to Castle Ravenloft.
