A metal box displaying the runes ᛏᛣ on top is delivered to the House Kestrel of Arabel.Within is a letter written in blocky but very neat Common, written on Black Dragon Scale:
To the honorable Lady of House Kestrel,
Though it has been some time since we met and spoke, I think ye will remember the Dwarf who aided in liberating your family's coal mine from a tribe of Orcs a little less than a year ago, and proved the coal was viable. At the time ye had promised we could come to an arrangement between your family's mine and my clan, Oghrann. I recently visited a smithy in Arabel and the forgemaster made mention of a recently liberated mine providing the fodder for his business,and so I write this letter. I'd be grateful if we could meet soon to discuss business.
Word may have reached ye that another mine, a gold mine, was recently reclaimed outside of Valkur's Roar. Aye this is so, for Oghrann's Hammers and Axes and allies did indeed lay to death a Foul and Mighty Ancient Black Wyrm to restore an eons-lost rightful claim, and this letter is writ upon the scales of that beast.
I look forward to your reply, leave word at the Wild Wolf Inn with either the barkeep or a noble and venerable longbearded Dwarf who answers to the name Glaren. Word will reach me.
