Within his heavy leatherbound tome bearing the symbol of Chauntea, Gregor records his works as a priest of the Grain Goddess. The script is written in a slow and meticulous hand, easily readable and obviously showing great care in its' recording.
I recently have arrived in Cormyr, namely within the town of Great Gaunt. Of little note to amongst greater Cormyr, it still hold many in and outside of its walls, mostly farmers and other typical townsfolk. They seem hardy enough, at least as far as first impressions go. Suprisingly this town holds host to a large number of adventuring folk of all kinds, some more reputable than others. I will record what I know of some, as they have struck me as people worth knowing better. I have taken some jobs around the town, working by myself and with others to ensure this community is safe from the many dangers outside its walls and to allow them to grow and thrive. Delving deep into caves filled with hordes of orcs and goblins, fighting for our lives as we cleared out these threats so close to good folk. I do not wish to record such details though, for bloodshed in itself is worth little note, only the fact that others will be allowed greater safety so they can flourish.
I hope to speak more with the local people, to make myself known to the community so if they wish they can come to me for any aid they might need, be it blessing their fields or a union between those in love. Such things must be tended to at all times, but with special prominence during a war, such as Cormyr is fighting now. Once I have tended to Great Gaunt, I plan to travel to the other cities and in particular those sheltering refugees displaced by the Sembians. I've been lucky enough to meet several who seem to be good people in my short time here, as well as more than a few kin active in the area.
Cynthia, a young Hin woman I have been lucky enough to travel with a few times now, she is a cheerful one and quite eager to be in the thick of things, especially when danger and gold are involved. Maybe a little too focused on the coin, but at least she is doing good while seeking her riches. Trustworthy I think, and handy to have on a trip outside the walls.
Arcturus, another priest in service to the Red Knight has also stood out amongst those I have met. He's told me a little about his past, a native of cormyr only recently returned to his homeland. He has mentioned a search for skilled warriors, though besides what I can assume about his faith I do not no more as to why. A skilled fighter with his own patron's blessings, he seems eager always to find another fight though not overly bloodthirsty, maybe he just seeks to test himself. I hope to know the man better, friends are as important to us as water to any crop.
Wineslawscz I have only spoken with once but it was an enjoyable talk, we even got to enjoya bard putting on a performance while we shared a bit of history. Wish I knew more gnomish, maybe I will see if there is a book on the language I can study when I am not tending to my duties.
I think often of home, and of the farms. I miss tending the gardens and fields but I feel Cormyr needs Chauntea's blessings far more than my home does and I am hopeful when I think of the work ahead. My first task outside my home as a full Pastoral is difficult but incredibly rewarding. I feel myself growing closer to the Great Mother every day, her blessings are bountiful.
Recordings of Gregor Greenhand, Pastoral of Chauntea, hopeful servant to Cormyr and her people.
