*Through this short chapter I explain the early years of Tobur's family and how Tobur himself started his quest for adventure. Hope you enjoy.*
It all began nearly 600 years ago in a city of Moonsea in Faerûn. By this time there lived a dwarf named Throin, amongst many other dwarves who, in total, were no more than 5% of the whole population of Moonsea. One would say that from Throin's generation on his family has lost its dwarven customs, way of living and even the dwarven accent itself, for these dwarves were living among too many humans.
Later on, 450 years later, Throin had a grandson named Tallan, the son of Thain. Young Tallan would prove that his family still bears many of the dwarven qualities, including courage, leadership in battle and hope.
At the age of 74 years old, Tallan would defeat a foul necromancer who sought to turn the whole region of Moonsea into a region of the undead...his own undead army. This necromancer came to be known as Zahrun, the dread.
Tallan organized a party himself and ventured down to the crypts of the city, where his family has lived, where the necromancer built his lair. While Tallan's fellow companions fought the undead they found in the crypts, Tallan rushed towards Zahrun driving his sword into his enemy's heart, protecting himself with a shield on the other hand.
After this, Tallan and his companions were known as the heroes of Moonsea, protectors of life, among other things.
A few years later, the hero Tallan had a son, young Tobur.
Tobur is now 50 years old and he left Moonsea looking for adventure, seeking to learn some of the long forgotten dwarven customs and, of course, expecting to gain some fame throughout Cormyr and, who knows, even throughout all of Faerûn...
Thus begins Tobur's adventure in Greatgaunt.
