The clan of the red talon was a small orc clan in the wintery cliffs of the Thunder Peak mountains. This clan of orcs kept mostly to themselves learning how to survive in the dangerous conditions of their mountainous home, and how to defend themselves against the threats on the surface and the Underdark.
While this tribe had a traditional structure of leadership it's survival was heavily based on the wisdom the shamans would provide, because without their shamans living in the hard climates would be rather difficult.
Around 1358 DR the shaman Yeskara discovered something within the tribes home after returning from a hunt. A red dragon wyrmling was nesting near the tribes hoard. Seeing this as a sign from the tribe's ancestors she instructed the tribe that they shall raise the dragon as their own, and pay it tribute. It was hence forth named Rashtargat.
The following summer the shaman gave birth to a son, who was named Ghash Grijak (which means Fire Blood in the common tongue) due to his albino skin. The details of this conception were kept a secret however anyone able to decipher the clan's writting may be lead to believe he at least has dragon blood in him. They could also be lead to believe that the dragon Rashtargat was Ghash's father. From a young age he was taught how to keep record of the tribes activities and still carries what is left of this journal with him.
He is however the last of his tribe.
One night near midwinter 5 years ago the tribe was attacked by a group of Grimlocks coming up through a mountain pass. They were lead by a cloaked female with a necklace around her described as "a black circle" (ooc: symbol of Shar). Ghash, at the instruction of his mother, hid away from sight. She knew the potential he had within him, and if someone would see him he would be taken. The group found their home as they were betrayed by a tribesman who had felt he had not been given rulership over the tribe. During the attack the Grimlocks were fierce slaughtering most of the orcs. As the orcs fell the dark priestess would raise them to do her work. Striken with fear he was taken from his home by the red dragon, who then flew back to defend the tribe. Ghash never saw them again. He even returned to his tribe's home to see all of the bodies of his kinsmen, and tracks that appear to be the dragon being dragged away from their home down the mountain path into the Underdark. He collected what he could and descended the mountain.
Finding work where he can, mostly manual labor, he has made a meager living for himself. His vocabulary and social skills may be similar to that of a teenage human male. He keeps to himself as others find his appearances odd and unsettling. He vows to find the one responsible and make her pay...or die trying.
