I don't interact OOC with my IC rivals, unless I would have otherwise anyway ('cause I know them). Beyond that, these days, I could care less what exactly happens. If someone will complain, they'll usually do about literally anything (or are having a bad day/month/year in which case they're best just left to their devices as well), and if they won't, they won't.
It's that simple. It doesn't mean I'm a jackass who won't OOC rez or leave people an IC out if possible, but I honestly prefer an absolute minimum, or zero at all, OOC communication in a hostile situation. It used to bug me, because I treated my PCs' deaths seriously and wanted to know why they were killed(or, in some cases, because the kills made no IC sense; I eventually realised 90% of NWN's playerbase has never opened a sourcebook, and stopped caring), but at this day and age, I just really don't care anymore. I think anyone who still cares about getting PvP's after 12 years is, simply put, very thin-skinned.
Having been in those shoes during a rather difficult period of my RL, I personally recommend, if you get angry about something like a game, to force yourself not to say anything but "Thank you for the RP", then log off and take a walk, punch a sand sack or something.
