This is something I've said before but there really needs to be some way ICly of knowing that A) Something might be out that way and B) Its not going to insta-gib you to go explore. This was an idea on another thread that I think is really great. On another server I play, the builder put a monster corpse outside of a dungeon as an IC hint that what was in the dungeon was tough enough to kill that CR of a monster. I agree that IC hints of danger level would be so helpful and only add to immersion. Another way to do this is through NPC conversation. I know there are certain NPCs already who talk about what dangers surround their town, so perhaps this good work could be expanded upon.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, this is a good idea & I'm supportive of it. It's something that we should do with new areas & go back over existing ones to improve as we change those areas for other reasons.
If you come across a specific area that has a rather jarring difficulty transition (eg area A is for levels 5-8 and area B is for levels 12-15) then do mention it & we can target those sooner.
