*as told by Lili Lannes*
Hours and hours in Watchful eye as we wait for Cassie to show up. We are well eaten, well rested and ready to go. We've talked to strangers and friends. We've told jokes and argued. Finally Melly decides we should go on a little exploration trip. Just the two of us. Fine.
We teleport to Skullcrag without incident and head west. Mellissan enchants everything like only she can. It is a real privilidge to travel with such a powerful sorceress.
We fight worgs and trolls and giants and they fall like flies. We head deeper into the Tun. Melly is determined and demanding. I dont mind. She's the powerful sorceress and knows better. I just do as I am told. It is all for the better. But the swamp water is getting to her mood. She's already a bit tired and certainly wet. No matter, we press on.
A temple. Many giants guard it, but I kill them with little trouble. What's inside? Melly doesnt know. Boldly we go in.
Grey frogmen! I charge them.
Mellissan: They are called slaads.
And how many are there! Spell after spell after spell falls on me. Dispels, hammers, death magics.... but Mellys magics are too strong to dispel and I resist all the other magics. Surprisingly easy. We meet an even bigger group! Blacks! Melly decides to help....
Mellissan: *annoyed moo*
It's wild magic area! Melly is very annoyed cow for a while. I dont have time to gigle at her, for she is in great peril. Many slaads charge at her and I fend them off, healing her in the meantime.
Mellissan: I hate wild magic
She casts other things too, but wild magic ruins them as well.
Mellissan: I hate wild magic
More black slaads! Big ones! I am worried, but I charge. Again, barrage of spells are cast on me for no effect. One manages to dispel my mind ward, but it doesnt matter. Melly casts many powerful spells, but they all fizzle or turn her into something embarrasing. I kill the slaads.
Mellissan: I hate wild magic
Then, a new, bigger slaad. White. With many blacks to help it. I charge them, cutting down the blacks with little trouble, still resisting all their magics. Not so hard? Wrong! The white is powerful in close combat! Melly walks over to help with magic, trips over a trap and dies. I manouver away and raise her with a scroll. She is so very angry!
Mellissan: I hate wild magic!
I charge the white slaad again. I know I cant win against it, but I know Melly will cast something great and save me. She does. But her missile storm isnt even close to enough to killing it. No matter, she has more.
Mellissan: So many polymorphs has greatly drained my magics. I dont have much left. I just hate wild magic.
Great. Now what? I dont know. I am badly wounded, but I cant retreat before Melly does. I have to give her a head start. Melly casts something again. I think it is a missile storm. That wont be enough! Not even close!
White slaad: Bwakbwakbwak
I am stunned. The slaad just turned to a chicken! I pause, but only for a second. I pick up the chicken and break it's neck. //50xp chicken!//
Mellissan: I never thought I'd say this, but sometimes, I really do like wild magic!
