Dear Commanders and Battle Priests,
My name is Fiona Lightfellow, Captain of the mercenary company, the Wild Jokers and personally known as “The Ace of Blades”. I am writing on the behalf of a half-orc ((or half-human as he prefers to be known) known as Derric.
Derric recently approached me inquiring about assistance from the church of Tempus. Apparently, he intends to unite the half-orcs of Cromyr and lead them to the Stonelands with the goal of clearing it of hostile life and pacifying it in the name of Cromyr. He envisions himself seizing the Queen’s bounty and building a community for half-orcs. Originally, it was his hope that the church would help him build the fort, train the men to fight, build siege engines, and teach others to fire them. However, because he has worked closely with the crown on the matter, they plan to staff the fort themselves, and train their own men. Now, Derric seems to simply want a temple to the Foehammer there, to help teach the occupants discipline.
While our company tries to follow the rules of war as outlined by the church, I do not feel we can truly speak for it. We staff a Tempite battlepriest, but he is of your Rusted Dagger sect, and has committed his service to our company. Therefore, I feel the need to defer the request to your church.
If you find it would bring honor and glory to the Foehammer to have our company represent your church in this matter, we will be happy to discuss the matter, but I’d like to discuss the matter in a official capacity before we do so.
I know little of this Derric’s character: he certainly doesn’t remind me of any half-orc I have ever met. He speaks eloquently and is polite in his manner. I know not how he conducts himself on the field of battle.
Me and my men can be eventually found in Great Gaunt, and often rest at the Regal Griffon Inn, should you wish to contact us on the matter. Otherwise, Derric eagerly awaits your reply.
Glory and Honor to the Foehammer,
Fiona Lightfellow, the Ace of Blades
