So my Paladin of Hoar is starting to find his feet. I'd like to loook into making an Order or some sort or beable to take missions from the Priest there as a role play booster.
What would I need to do or have my Pally provide to get something like this off the ground?
Thanks

What would I need to do or have my Pally provide to get something like this off the ground? Thanks While not entirely sober, and after answering a lot of pally questions dor Magic Hat..magic maelstorm...whatever...., the primary thing comes to mind: Have your pally inform the central pontiff/dude-ruler of your church, ICly, of a need to want to establish this in Cormyr. I have no idea where the central governing body of Hoar's church is speciically, or who the "pontiff", is, but I can say...its neer Mulhorand. I think in Unther or whatever? Help me out here Munroe Some imagination is in play. There may not be a concrete source location for this, nor who the central head is, but write something ICly out in the NPC-letter thing/place. That'd be a babystep Seeking the central head of the local church is a smaller start, but when it comes to the paladin-business? Its hard to say if he/it has any say in the promotional value of this...doesnt that dbag have an undead up in its tower? I hope that thing's not evil Whatever the case..where was I...yeah, that NPC could help out with the missions. He could 'recieve' contact from the central church authority, I suppose, to help your paladin push for this Order gig. I speak as much from the PC perspective as I try a DM one to help all sides get new perspectives Um, obviously, dont let your paladin shy away from foreign church aid. Hoar has allies, I think...use them

The Thunderous Hand of Vengeance in Akanax, Chessenta
The Amphitheater of the First Thunder in the independent city of Mourktar, North of Unther
Both contest for leadership of the faith.
Also, A paladin of Hoar would probably find comfort with the Tyrrans since paladins would focus more on the retribution and poetic justice aspects than vengeance or hate.

There is a large amount of resentment between Hoar worshipers and Tyrists. Hoar worshipers see no issue as too small for retribution, where Tyrists do not typically aid common people with the 'small stuff,' mostly dealing with grave injustices or tyranny. It is important to note that among the deities of Justice, there is a lot of resentment. Hoar and Tyr have enmity for one another. Helm and Torm's faith have friction between them (even though the deities respect each other), and etcetera. Refer to the Faiths and Pantheons sourcebook, or to Kung-fu Chicken's lore section for further information.

Thanks to you both!
I'm just starting out small, using the Priest in the Temple of Retribution as a go between right now, and getting him established as a character before making any efforts or strides in regards to an Order. i think it'd make more sense to have more than on follower of Hoar before even practically thinking about creating something, be it a fledging order or a branch.
I'll write a letter to one of those temples (I'll check the map and see what will make best sense for Morgan logistically and in reference to his past), maybe both after he learns fully about them.
Appreciate the time and input. Thank you again.

Regarding the Hoar paladin order potential...
There are no rules in place that say that you have to make your order worship ONLY one deity, and I would think that Hoar, being a demigod (300 to 3,000 worshipers) , would not have the number of worshipers required to begin ANOTHER paladin order.
There is precedent in the Forgotten Realms, laid out in the Complete Paladin's Handbook, 2e, for Orders that worship multiple deities. Specifically, the Order of the Radiant Heart, which is a conglomeration of Helmite, Tyrist, and Tormish knights (fighters, paladins, clerics). You would have much more success, I would expect, if you opened the periphery of your Order to not only worshipers of Hoar, but worshipers of other Justice deities.
As well as making the Order more accessible to a wider array of characters, this would offer many role playing possibilities, as the worshipers of different deities of Justice discuss the 'correct' way to mete out their judgements. Ultimately, I believe that that would work much better for you in the end, since not everyone wants to roll a Hoar paladin to join a paladin order. As there is not currently an Order available to join for Paladin player characters, this would be opportune. Not all Paladins want to join the Purple Dragons, after all.
It could be finagled in source easily, since there is already precedent, and of course, role play rules. You could call it "The Upraised Hands of Justice," or the "Golden Scales of Righteous Law," just for some ball-parking of naming ideas.

Sounds awesome, BUT...cite your source please I've never heard of these. If this is source accurate, then it's juicy, rare and awesome. But I'd like to see a citation ;D

I get a lot of my general diety related info from nj-pbem.com. Its much more indepth than most other sites from what I've seen. ------------- In the South, two temples of the Lord of Three Thunders contest for leadership of the faith. The Thunderous Hand of Vengeance in Akanax is strictly loyal to the king of that city, and its priests run the city watch and the city courts with an iron fist. Priests of the Thunder Hand, as they are commonly known, make up a large percentage of the high-ranking officers in Akanax's armies. The Amphitheater of the First Thunder in the independent city of Mourktar is a large, open arena where numerous gladiatorial combats takes place between accusers and the accused instead of the more common court trials found elsewhere in the Realms. It is believed that Hoar intervenes directly in each bout, ensuring that fitting justice is always enacted. The actual temple is located in the bowels of the arena. Since the Time of Troubles and the death of King Theris, the most prominent member of the faith, the influence of this temple has rapidly shrunk throughout the nearby regions of Threskel and Chessenta. Priests of the Doombringer have been shunted from most positions of powre by the Banite clergy of the Black Lord's Cloak (discussed in the Bane entry in Faiths & Avatars). With Assuran's declining influence in Chessenta, the Hidden Hand of Fate temple in the depths of the Arch Wood has risen to some prominence in the North. The inhabitants of Archendale have always been known for their short temples, grudges, arrogance, and love of intrigue. In this environment, Hoar's worship has begun to take hold, and quite a few of Archendale's inhabitants clandestinely worship the Doombringer. The priests of the Hidden Hand of Fate sponsor a number of bards, bounty hunters, and assassins active throughout the Heartlands and coordinate a loose network of vigilantes dealing rough justice throughout the wilder stretches of the Dales.

Do they cite their source?
Websites aren't primary sources unless they're wizards.com really. Of course if a site cites their sources then the information can be verified with their sources (if they can be tracked down).
It's much better to work with primary sources than secondary sources though, so the information can be verified accurate.
That tidbit you posted does refer to the Bane Entry of Faiths and Avatars as a reference to something it only touches on though, so I'd be curious to know where it's coming from. Second Edition, I guess, but which book?
