Well, I might write more in this, or I might just leave it at one entry and let the rest of my time here speak for myself. But anyway, why Cormyr? Why all the way from Damara? It's not like we don't have halflings in Damara. I mean, I'm one after all, and so is my whole village....... and the villages around us.
But it's different for me. Most of my friends enjoy cooking, and eating, and farming. Some of our more well-known people have even gone out and made a name for them self in the big world. Don't get me wrong, I like cooking and eating too. I mean, I AM a halfling. But I also like sitting in the forest singing with the birds, watching how the fish swim. I'm always happy out there.
I met an old tall one with a gray beard one day in the woods. He came on me so quietly I didn't even realize he was there while I was watching some fish. I just turned around, and there he was, watching the fish too, a slight smile on his face. Then he looked at me, winked, and turned into a wolf and ran off!!
I saw him again a few days later, and asked how he did that. He said it was something all druids can do, and that's when I realized what I was meant for. Why I like the things that I do. I asked him if he would teach me. He laughed and said he was too old to teach, but I could learn with him. It was a really good couple years, but then he got sick and had to stop teaching me. He's still around somewhere, probably curled up in a den, but he told me if I wanted to continue learning, I had to go seek out the teachers.
He said something else kind of funny though before I left. He said I could sing so much like the birds, swim so much like the fish that he wouldnt' be surprised if one day I turned into one. I asked him if he could, and he said that he could only take a few shapes, but others could take far more. It was an art only a few ever mastered though, and if I wanted to learn more, I would have to seek them out. So here I am, looking for teachers, hoping one day to go home and show him something he can be proud of.
Cormyr!! Here comes Frin!!
