Notes from the books lustig left for me:

This weave thing is immense beyond imagination, never upon the farm did I think I would find such marvels. I know Dominic, my fathers friend once spoke of a few of these symbols long ago during the studies father allowed but its simply too much. To wonder what my father knew of before he passed...


As for lustig, he seemed to have stolen these books from the college of war wizards, I shall have to confront him.


Thus far I've learned about the many "schools of magic".. truely they describe many things that each school simply has in common.

Evocation.

= A rather baffling school, the runes of the spells I have in the book the priest gave me. is few but, rather rather varied, and powerful. Spells to sling "fire" from ones hands, or raw energy. It is quite something.. =quite=

Illusions
-another unique thing, it makes thing Naked to the eye, oh so much mischeif I could of used this when sneaking out to see timothy whilst father was home.

however, such girlish-tendancies aside, 'illusions" provide tricks to the mind, sheilding of ones self, and manifestations that if beleived can be interacted with.

Abjurations.
= my favorite so far, they protect others, and grant them protection against fell things. they also strike out at "demons or devils" such which I've not knowledge of at present. However these come with ease, unlike conjurations which I've no.. time for, silly forumlas that are of little use..

Transmutations
= the ability to alter ones self, others or things. I can make a dagger float by one spell, an engraciate myself with life force. how it occurs I am simply learning the latter spell I've not discovered its mysteries yet.

Enchantment
= this are curious spells that vex the mind and body. often the chants are lymirics, lulabys and other such things, I only have seen one, one to allow things to sleep.. it is curious but I've got myself in the wake of such a spell, I should be careful. also I wonder what sort of side effects come with toying with the mind. It is something, I am waery of.

Necromancy
- I've not seen a spell of such yet, I know little of it, lustigs books say it is the art of using the negativel plane in magic.. which ever that means, though lustig has made mention to a "lich" and "undead" with such.. I will see where such yeilds.

Divination
= a Wonderful school that provides, knowledge with a few words. I managed to idenfty several spell scrolls as=well, as several wands and how to use them.. who really needs wands of pig-summoning? Such seems to be a powerful magical school of forthought and for sight. I shall see where such brings me...

...The dreams come of late in two forms... softly the cry of another .. of a cloak in blue and my hands in blood.. the ruined dress my mother had given me for a feast day, the friend that has fallen beside me.. blood spilt upon my hand and it is all I can see.. returned by magic beyond my comprehension beyond the ability, of how, and explainations of why.

I see her face, softly, pale, snow white, as I tried to stroke her hair, poor yulena, once quiet, but now full of life.. it was a strange horror, and terrifying to beface and it haunts my dreams.

but such is only once side of the coin.

The other is much more.. disturbing, it is power rushing through my hands and the feel of the weave like a well, building up inside me like the heat of a flame or ecstasy of a fast dance it is there at my hands.

Coalescing into flame, and scorching out at.. myself.. It defies all reason to think I would harm myself with such, but the fact is, is that now more so then ever I can command energies that have been, before only acts of nature, eletricty to lay waste a dozen orcs. at my command at my will, why, to what purpose, a sack full of coins? to gain a living, a living based off destroying all? Azuth teaches patience and reasoning and planning but all has it place, but what is this place, I have the gift for magic, I've studied and now it is comign together but to what purpose... to what end..

I ask kraw and in oh so simple terms he tells me it is ok, and that I should perhaps take up the blade. However I am unsure.

I've seen death, I've seen creatures Beyond what any of my kin have seen in such a short time. A farmlife has long been gone and never had we had to deal with magic, undeath, or the fell magic of dark gods. Now here I am sitting in an empty inn alone, with all this on my mind.

Yet.. in walks another splotch of ink and wonders why he gets strange stares, strange looks and almost does not get an room from the ink keep.

many adventures care not for the common folk, for those like mother, who in her simple ways removed me from home fearng magic, fearing the rage, and all things cormyr has been through.

Yet I am looked at as a fool, how can one not be accustomed to magic? elves? demonds, undead? .. it is not hard, when one life is seperated nad spared such knowledge. I wonder if my mother is lucky in her ignorance, for the more I learn the more that it troubles me.. and my rest.

Another dream last night, and another hardship for me to deal with. I've unlocked a new, teir of arcane power.

While some revel in that, it still scares me somewhat, the sheer will of it. Mother told me I'd be a danger tis why she told me to leave home. I thought to look for my father and his comapnion, and my teacher Dominic. But now, I've been caught up in adventuring for 6 moons, my mind is no longer on what I need to do to survive, but now on learning this..skill... and it..scares me

I traveled with kraw the other day, he said to fight some bugbears, this to me seemed a worthy task, i've heard tales of such beasts ..there was a tower, and I unleashed the most powerful incantation I've learned a orb, of lighting that exploded more brillant then any firework, I've ever seen.

then they were dead.. twiching beasts ..beasts they were, fallen. So many I travel with simply seek coin and riches, is this what I've become a murderer, for hire, to seek gold, and glory?

if it is, I do not like it, I like putting what I learn to use, I like traveling with often amusing companions, I do like gaining coin, but if it's my only purpose, my only reason.. why isn't that enough? I am.. frightened where this path will take me, and even some of the incantations I've copied to date. Frightened that I may one day find a darker road, or that it is not longer beasts at my magics end.

oh how I long for simplier times.
