The modest crowd gathered behind the inn where the river split off as the Dawn crested between the two hills, illuminating the sky as well as reflecting off of the water of the river, thus doubling the effects of the Morninglord. Prayers and hynms to Lathander, the god of Dawn, were offered and led by the young priest, Tyreseus. When finished, Tyreseus turned to address the small gathering.
"Good morning!" he said. "I'd like to thank you for joining me this morning. I realize that a lot of us, even some of us Dawnbringers, find it difficult to make it to Dawn services without at cup of strong coffee."
The group chuckled softly, and Tyreseus continued.
"Of course, if Lathander can do it day after day to light our mornings, then we surely can as well, no?" he said with a smile.
"In any event," Tyreseus continued, "I said 'good morning'. You've probably noticed that the faithful of Lathander say that regardless of if it's morning, noon or night. Some chalk it up to us being rather zealous in our religion, but it's more than that, of course. When we say 'good morning', we are wishing you new things, a fresh start, and it's never too late! When we say 'good morning', we are saying, "be happy, good things are on the horizon for you, you need only wait or work, for it."
"Sometimes," he continued, "it's hard to see that. Like the Dawn that brings us the light, darkness must preceed it. This is natural and only right. You must struggle. You must wait. You must be tempered to be ready to receive Dawn's blessing. A lot of the time, it's not easy, nor fun, or sometimes it's not even something you can see as somthing that will even happen at all!"
"But it will happen, becasue it has to happen. And like waking up early (and yes, having your morning coffee beforehand), it takes an effort on your part to make happen. Like morning, like the Dawn, you may sleep in and miss it. But the good part of 'good morning' is that you will have yet another chance to make it. It happens every day. So, if and when you miss it, do not lose faith or your motivation. You will have another opportunity."
"I say to you, 'good morning'. If you see me later today I will say it, and when you see me tonight I will say it. I say it becasue I wish for you to find your new path, I want to wish you strength on your journey, and I want you to see the Dawn."
"Thank you for joining me this morning." Tyreseus concluded. "May the Dawn be with you."
