Stepping into the common-room of the Regal Griffon was like a home coming, even though Targ had never had a proper home, he knew what it meant to feel 'at home'.
As he walked through the door shaking the rain from his fur cloak the one-eyed Half-Orc scanned the room. No one here other than Kale, the Barkeep.
"Why you one-eyed, son-of-a-goat!" Kale shouted, slamming a bottle and two mugs on the bar. "What happened to you? Where have you been?" Kale asked pouring the Dragonbreath ale in both mugs.
"That's too long of a story for one night," Targ replied in his deep, grumbling voice, "Let's just say the contract didn't hold up."
"Raven?" Kale whispered.
"Alive, still." Targ said between gulps of the burning liquid. "The Knights of Myth Drannor couldn't even catch him, not even with info I fed them while playing as his bodyguard!" Downing the mug, "I should have slit his throat in his sleep..."
The last comment caught Kale in mid sip making him choke. "Targ, you never used to talk like that."
"Sorry, old friend." Targ said patting Kale on the shoulder, "it just makes me so damned angry knowing he got away again, even with Moric's help we couldn't take him." Sighing, Targ set the mug down.
"So that mean yer back?" Kale said, refilling the mugs.
"Yep, for as long as I can. The Dales have there charm, but I always liked it here." Targ said with a smile.
And the two of them talked through the night, catching each other up.
