The following letter has been delivered to the Council.
Good Council of Greatgaunt.
I am greatly concerned of the safety of this small town for I witnessed a most disturbing use of magic in the middle of the town.
The elf known as Elvewyn and a man known as Thraden resulted in the use of destructive magic in broad daylight in your village. I shall describe you the events as I saw them.
The elf Elvewyn was apparently agitating Thraden with his words. Thraden then deceived the onlookers to get closer to Elvewyn upon whom he used some manner of magical item. From where I was standing it seemed like a some manner of bronze crown. Elvewyn claimed it to be death magic. The two exchanged words and the elf stepped back a few feet before casting his own spell that resulted in the death of Thraden. Elvewyn then claimed this to be self-defence. After that Thraden was resurrected and the two exchanged some words before Elvewyn left for the inn. Thraden continued to talk a moment longer before leaving town himself.
As a witness to these events I made these observations. Provoked by Elvewyn's words Thraden acted first in an attempt to slay Elvewyn in which he failed. Then Elvewyn, after having a moment to consider it all, decided to cast his own slaying spell. At this point I wish to note that Thraden was on his knees and seemed to be hardly any threat. There for I believe Elvewyn's claim of self-defence is hardly valid. From where I was watching it seemed like cold blooded revenge.
The event was unnoticed by the authorities of the town. I am fairly certain that some measures should be taken to punish those who acted against the law to show that such activities are not allowed within a realm that believes in justice.
I leave my observations to your consideration.

*the letter comes with a note at the bottom, written in a staggered flowing calligraphy as if not practiced often*
I would like to add that the taunts of the elf Elvawyn were very cruel and unusual. He seemed to take delight in Thraden's misery. While Thraden did seem to attempt to do something to Elvawyn, whatever it was failed. Elvawyn did not show any remorse for his actions after casting a spell on Thraden and causing death to the man on his knees.
Sincerely,
Ginna Reyne
