NOMINATIVE DESIGNATION: Effelin Surel, a.k.a. "Toymaker" or "Jack"
XENOTYPE:: Lightfoot Halfling
ETHOS/VICE RATING: Neutral Evil
VERTICAL DIMENSIONS: 3'2"
MEASUREMENT OF GIRTH 35 lbs, sans gear.
RELIGIOUS INCLINATIONS: Effelin worships three gods primarily. The first of which, MASK, is the one that he is most familiar with, given that there are many who are part of his priesthood in the Shadow Thieves, which he is a part of. He also pays homage to GOND, the Wonderbringer, given that Effelin is an inventor and relies upon his blessings in his work and innovations.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Effelin reveres DALLAH THAUN, the darker, shadier aspect of YONDALLA, his wife Rellia being a priest and divine agent of the Lady of Mysteries whilst she was alive. Although he is not as familiar as he would like to be with her teachings, he seeks to learn more about Dallah Thaun and hopes to build on what his wife taught him.
Given Dallah Thaun is the great secret of the halfling race, Effelin would sooner tell people he is wholly Maskarran, or a worshiper of Gond or Yondalla. Presently, the halfling holds syncretic beliefs related to these three gods.
ALLIES: Effelin has acted as a fence for the SHADOW THIEVES, the guild that controls the lion's share of criminal activity in Athkatla and throughout Amn. He presently serves as one of many informants for them, working outside their usual territory along the cities of the Sword Coast in order to gauge the strength of both local guilds that form part of the Cormyrian underworld and, of course, the might of the Night Masks of Westgate to the south.
ADVERSARIES: His shop was lost, along with his wife Rellia and a great many of his more elaborate inventions, after a confrontation with a single corrupt COWLED WIZARD, who was attempting to extort from the halfling. As such, Effelin harbors nothing but hatred for them.
As a Shadow Thief, he would find enemies amongst the HARPERS, MOONSTARS, the CALISHITE GOVERNMENT and many others, should they manage to discover his true allegiances.
