/// A sealed letter is delivered to the Great Hall, addressed to High Inquisitor Pro Tem Herman Hillman
Hail, honorable High Inquisitor . . .
This letter constitutes my formal request for commission into the Great Hall as a regularly commissioned Inquisitor. I have served Valkur's Roar unerringly as Privateer Inquisitor since the onset of the most recent snows. My work has led to the arrest and execution of a murderer and her accomplice, who was also a thief. My investigations have even ferreted out corruption within the ranks of the Inquisitors themselves, as the former Assistant Inquisitor Pro Tem, Monte Philman, was exposed and his unsavory actions brought to your attention by my investigative techniques. My investigations have also led to the field execution of another fugitive from the law when the suspect refused to surrender and return to the Great Hall to face justice. His death was a matter of self defense, but the sentence was carried out nonetheless, and all legalities concerning this were imaculate. I would be a valuable addition to the Great Hall as a fully commissioned Inquisitor, as it would grant me the ability to fully investigate many of the cold cases that loom over Valkur's Roar to this day. I appreciate your consideration, and I am at your disposal, should you desire to speak with me.
In law and spirit,
Tanya Steel Privateer Inquisitor to the Great Hall of commissioned Inquisitors of Valkur's Roar

Tanya Steel enters the Great Hall in Valkur's Roar and looks about, not surprised at the hollow sounds of her own quiet footsteps echoing through the nearly empty chamber. 'It seems so quiet here. They have forgotten who helped to make it this quiet.' She calls out for an Inquisitor . . . 'any Inquisitor.' Her calls are only answered by the guard who mans the front doors. Tanya greets him and asks him to relate a message to the commissioned Inquisitors: 'I have made great sacrifices to promote order and lawfulness in the name of this Great Hall, and still I have not been considered for commission among your numbers. being a Privateer Inquisitor is not in equal standing to the amount of responsibility I have taken upon myself for you. I submitted a formal request which was ignored entirely. I will no longer work for you, Inquisitors. I am now officially freelance.' With that conclusion, Tanya turns and walks out of the Great Hall . . . perhaps for the last time.
