Gerard Rakurno is a large man. Broad shouldered, with a chiseled jaw and straight nose. He is half-Chondathan, and half-Northern in heritage, granting him a powerful and durable frame. His hair is kept neatly trimmed, and his beard shaven. His eyes, despite their vivid blue color, harbor an impassive steel. His posture is straight, causing him to tower over many; one could liken it to a guardsman's stance.
Gerard's hands are worn from years of labor and a sword's hilt. His commonly exposed skin is tanned, but not overly so. He lacks any weather to his complexion. He bears few scars, but sports a birthmark in the shape of the Unsleeping Eye on the inside of his right bicep.
Gerard's equipment is expensive and well-cared for. His armor is of the finest steel, polished to a near mirror finish. It bears upon the breastplate the Unsleeping Eye. The chainmail that acompanies the plates is kept immaculately clean, the steel bearing not a single blemish. His right hip carries a hand-and-a-half sword, also kept in immaculate condition. The scabbard is plushly embroidered, and bears the words 'Ever Watchful' down the length of it. On the opposite hip is slung a warhammer, etched and engraved with sacred runes, humming with latent divine power. Strapped across his back is a halberd, seven feet tall, with a broad axehead. It bears the mark of the Town of Talaski.
Vertically upon Gerard's back sits a pavise, five feet in height. It is rectangular, and bears a silver border around a blue plane. In the center of the shield is an upraised war gauntlet, bearing the Unsleeping Eye upon it. Obviously old, and obviously meticulously cared for, the shield is always within arms reach of Gerard, and he is commonly seen stroking its blue plane lovingly.
Gerard wears, on his right hand, a silver band, plain and unmagical. His clothing consists of utilitarian pants and shirts, and fine walking boots. He wears leather jerkins over his shirts, and favors rich blues, bright whites, glimmering golds, and blacks. Gerard wears a warcape emblazoned with the symbol of Helm.
On his left ring finger, there is a ring, a platinum band with a tension set star sapphire, flanked by two Unsleeping Eyes of Helm. Both eyes are set with blue quartz for irises.
