“Stupid”
Eileanora sat naked on the dusty wooden floor, staring at herself in the mirror. Her emerald green eyes tracing their way across her form which had been partially covered by her long red hair.
“Why would he every want someone like you?”
She hunched over putting her elbows on her knees continuing to appraise herself harshly. Her delicate frame, covered with tattoos of a rich earthen brown and deep emerald, seemed almost malnourished compared to other more noble women.
She frowned, sitting up to get a different view of herself.
“Not even a proper Illuskan. Why on earth would an elf want you?”
She was right about not appearing Illuskan. She was a quite petite compared to others like Krohn and Hrothgar of the same heritage. She also lacked the fair hair and steel blue eyes common of that people. She had only recently discovered that her mother was in fact a Ffolk which finally explained her small frame and narrow waist. She also lacked the child bearing hips that were considered sensual in her culture and was quite bitter about it.
Her eyes welled slightly with tears she refused to let fall. She touched the right side of her face and continued speaking with her reflection.
“Something from a past life…what if he finds out about my past life? He would never want to speak to me again. He would see how vile I am…how weak.”
A few tears began to fall on the dusty floor. Eileanora glanced over at the dress laid out on the bed, her attempt at being more feminine. Thalia had done a terrific job on it. El remembered Thalia working on the dress without even knowing her measurements and smiled.
“If I do not get down there to sell they will come to check on me.”
El looked over at the large sack of random things found at the bandit camp and grimaced. She took a deep breath and let out a long sigh. She stood up and slid into her merchant’s attire, after making sure she was dust free of course, and walked over to wrap the dress up replacing it in her bag.
“I will have to tell him though.” She frowned as she continued preparing to leave. “If I don’t explain my past than how can I convince him the priest was lying about Aris?”
She looked around the room making sure all of her things where collected, opened the door quietly and left. The only sign of her being there was a small spot on the floor that was lacking dust, right in front of the mirror.
