This post is to just poke some fun and share some thoughts/experiences regarding dragon disciple wings and flying in the game.
Dragon Disciples have average manuverability normally regarding flying in PnP. In the game...you can't really express that through any mechanical means, but that doesn't mean you need to limit your roleplay to not being able to fly.
I learned that in order for a creature to fly, their wingspan needs to be twice the length of their body. Regardless if its accurate or not, I went ahead with that standard because who cares when its just a fantasy game to begin with ;D
Some situations I've been in with Sharteel regarding flying:
1.) She's taken people on brief flight trips before
2.) She'll fly up into the air and buzz about when energetic
3.) When I have her caravan I typically envision her flying
4.) I've had her flown up ontop of things to perch on
And...that's really about all one can really do with the limits. There hasn't been any DM plots/situations where flying was required nor a specific opportunity given for such, but I'm sure something like that can happen
I dont recommend using flight in PvP, simply because it'd be a headache to figure things out. Although it'd be cool to have an aerial-ranged battle I guess - Just not worth the effort to me
In combat versus monsters...well...obviously you can't really do crap with yer wings there
There have been known widgets made to use to fly for dragon disciples apparently, but FRC doesn't have this nor will it likely be implimented since its simply not priority
