elf/half-elf/rdd?

The problem with saying dragon + elf = half-elf or anything + elf = half-elf is that half-elves are more accurately half-human half-elf.

So the only thing that results in a "half-elf" is actually a human + and elf or a half-elf and an elf or a half-elf and a human.

Half-elf and half-orc are both also half-human but it's not in the name.

When something is half-dragon half-anything, then it's the half-dragon template.

You forgot half-elf + half-elf = half-elf. They are all over the Yuirwood of Aglarond.

While technically correct that an elf and a dragon would produce an elf with a half-dragon template, that seems an odd loophole in the DnD reproductive chain. But since this is so, then a half-dragon elf mating with another elf would make a quarter dragon elf and so the bloodline (as someone else mentioned) could be passed on without anyone being a true half-elf.

The idea of Dragon Disciple FR elves too me is a mixed bag, RP wise. On one hand you have the white hot hatred/pity elves have for the fey'ri (and drow) and the practice of mingling with fiends, etc.

On the other hand, elves deeply respect, are allied with at times and have a good bit of awe for good dragons.

But...Dragon Disciple requires (or it should!) require effort to manifest the remnant draconic heritage, so is it wrong/bad for elves to harness that as a source of strength?

I would say that those who manifests the traits of good dragons probably wouldn't be treated with outright suspicion but they might catch some scorn now and then. Those who manifests the traits of evil dragons might be outright mistrusted or branded N'Tel'Quessir.

I don't like elfs much. I would much rather be half-orc or human.

Half-orcs, are buffer, smelly-er, funny-er, and much more fun to RP

What if en elf and an orc would breed? Or an elf and a dwarf? Or a dwarf and an orc? What would be the out-coming spawn?

I really don't see why humans are the only ones that can cross-breed.

I have an answer for the dwarf part. Anything a dwarf breeds with will always come out a dwarf. Thats how it was in 2nd addition. So unless they changed it, a dwarves always make dwarves.

Halfbloods
Humans, gnomes, and halflings are
cross-fertile with dwarves. Elminster says
elves and dwarves can have issue as well.
Common in Ardeep, Eaerlann, and Myth
Drannor of old, this is unheard-of today.
Mates who respect dwarven customs
and traditions are honored for their cour-
age (in entering a strange society), loyalty
