well
I thought it was a good idea, and I intend to either do a bit of research and put something together for myself and others. those who wish to consolidate thoughts on RP.
could post here.
please leave your negatie 2 cents out.
(constructional critism is welcome)
.. I'd like to start by gathering topics in a breif sort of out line that we could fill in.
I'd like to start with just general comments on:(with an FRC prospective)
races classes alignments (especially differences between them) Rping epic levels (what changes at level 21, and good conduct)
I'd like also to keep this heavy off the details, but rather draw in links to the heavier topics on FRC.
sort of like a quick refrence chart.
example..
Dwarves..
local cormyrian dwarves have a history of this this and that. Dwarves treat outsiders like this.
for dwarven life style information in cormyr LINK For dwarven paethons LINK etc.

I agree with keeping such a thing link heavy and text light. There is already a lot of helpful lore here if people know where to look for it. I don't think opinions on good/bad RP are needed. In fact, I think player opinions should be left out if such a thing is to be taken seriously. Reference the appropriate lore or rule, and the reference will speak for itself. If gaps are discovered, official lore to link to should be added. We should also respect people's right to play an atypical character if they wish by phrasing FAQs similar to:
"What would a typical ___________ think about ___________?"
Anyway, it should be clear that this is for the benefit of the player and totally optional reading. Some people prefer to learn as they go, and I want the game to stay friendly to those who are just learning the setting/how to RP. I like the simplicity and welcoming way this current FAQ is written in the Server Rules and Information :: FRC FAQ Thread:

ok that was constructive..
however I want to know the reason you think the opinions of people on good and bad roleplay should be left out.
there is good and bad roleplay with references to immersion.. I would know I -was- the example of bad roleplay when I arrived.
(I think my first day dm dachound asked me not to farm the kolbold layer then when my party ran into another group... I said lets split it down the middle, lots of koldbolds for everyone, instead of grouping up(which was ic) to keep the party size down to help exp and loot.. not to mention the mystran elf from evermeet *shakes head*)
so why is it unwise to add my personal experinces to the wiki to show where i went wrong?
I would think the way it was written would take alot of perspective.
-------------------
that aside I am in agreeance with your "fill in the blank style"
and that would be where we'd draw in the links to FRC. if we could use the FRC wiki.
we could post small in topics.. sort of a huge FAQ with links to direct answers.

I dont think a large amount of work is really nessecary
Players need only look at:
Server Rules and Information General Discussion Lore of the Lands Roleplay Ideas and Suggestions
Those boards contain the quenessentials of FRC, do they not? The guts and gears of most functions and expectations
There is an FAQ section under the Server Rules and Information for those who dont want to do more research in the other places. Plenty of appropriately placed links in threads within the Lore of the Lands board as well (take for example, my Ethos thread - it has a lot of links to alignment-related topics [dont know if they all work still though])
Ive always liked the idea of consolidating information to make it easier to find...so if it can be improved still somehow...then by all means...But from what I learned from experience, if players are lazy now...then they'll probably still be lazy on reading the resturaunts menu completly, know what I mean? Menu's can have their categories, but at the end of it all...a customer will only look for the category that suits their needs at the time
I do recommend, those four places been searched through thoroughly if you're wanting to start consolidating more and more...We do have an FRC page out there on the NwNwiki if I'm not mistaken, so maybe that project can be picked up on again for help?

The FRC page on the NWNWiki is a basic overview and that's about all it can be on the NWNWiki site.
There is a FRC wiki I started some time ago (frcormyr.wikia.com) that I mentioned on the Support Team Evil thread. I abandoned it because it wasn't a popular idea at the time. Perhaps it's time to revisit it as the page is still there.
If nothing else, for the dedicated player it will make searching for information quite easy (dare I say easier than on the forums).

It is this player's opinion that only neutral humans should become druids, because everyone knows they are the real true druids.
The above statement, made in jest is the reason you don't want player "opinions". Like farts, everyone can stomach their own, but not everyone will like someone else's.
I remember when you started Ent, did you take the time to research at all before you played, or were you just excited to do the playing part?
Those who would do research, will, those who don't want to, won't. Keep that in mind. I agree with Ancient, there already exists great starting blocks for those who want them.
I just think you want to have a place to say others can't do something... "wrong" in their rp, like make an evil elf. lvl 1 does not mean year 1, elves are often over 100yrs old when they start adventuring, that is a lot of time to discover the evils of the world, and or to be corrupted by them.
