The "Melairkyn Clan" of ale guzzling mithril mining stouts did. Well, technically, they dug the deep halls originally. Halaster also dug tsome passages himself (or had others dig for him rather). But the bulk of Undermountain was dwarven built. This is correct. For the bonus point, find an NPC descended from this clan. An NPC here or in the sources? "Bandaerl" an Arch Lich and High Priest of Dumathoin protects the crypt of Undermountain's first King.

Who was "Orchtrien" and "who" killed him? Orchtrien was a gold dragon and i think it was his army that killed him, as he went mad from the red comet known as the king killer.

Correct, this tale was the first instance of Dragon Rage in the Realms. Bonus points if you know how many years of unbroken worship a group of Corellon's Priests performed to bring it about.

According to Dragons of Faerun, if I remember correctly, the creation of the Dracorage Mythal took an epic spell (aptly named "Dracorage Mythal") which required a large group of casters to sacrifice themselves to power the magic (as a mitigating factor, to decrease the spellcraft DC, thus making the spell more manageable to successfully cast).
I can double check the numbers and what not later, but I think that if the Dracorage was ever brought on by years of prayer by clerics, it was from an earlier version and retconned in 3.x... the casting time on Dracorage Mythal was only something like ten days.

As we spoke about once in the past in this thread, the Mythal magics were cheapened to the point of absurdity for 3.5 compared with the historical basis for them in 2E.

The Rage of Dragons is the result of an elven high magic effect cast millennia ago in the far northern reaches of Faerûn in an ancient observatory built to track the wanderings of the King-Killer Star. The Fair Folk created the mythal to undermine the rule of dragons, but mitigated its effects by binding it to the King-Killer Star, thereby preventing the Dracorage from completely overwhelming the other kingdoms of Faerûn.
And then there's a whole bunch of text detailing its actual effects, but I don't feel like needing to type all that up right now, and it's not really relevant to the discussion anyway.
I find it mildly amusing how in the epic magic system, the mitigating factors for increasing the casting time by ten minutes and increasing it by ten days both decrease the DC by the same amount and they can be stacked, it seems kinda silly. Also, what's the point of burning 20k xp when you're killed and can't be resurrected? The elven high mages were power gamers!
It was probably different in earlier editions... but I doubt they'd completely change its story, only how/if it's mechanically presented. Maybe the "years of prayer by Corellonite priests" was for a different high magic spell?

I assumed so, didn't give any restrictions,. though i also assume that breathing lava may still cause Fire damage but you wont drown So if you have fire immunity, then you could sleep in a volcano, under the lava/magma and be okay til you need to eat or drink.

And if you really want to get down and dirty, if the room was being filled with Broken glass,.. you'd be okay as long as you are immune to or have resistance to slashing/piercing damage. Because glass is actually a liquid.
