Folinar “Gemseeker” Thunderaxe
Deep in the dark caves of eastern Storm Horn Mountains lies the dwarven settlement of the Thunderaxe clan. For many generations, war has been going on with a sapphire dragon, who now lives close to the expanding dwarves.
In the latest attempt to slay the dragon, Queen Hela was captured by the wyrm.
The queen is now held captive in a place only accessible through magic, much like a sapphire dragon’s treasure hoard. For the queen is now like a valuable piece of treasure.
You see, the dragon is demanding priceless gems, or the queen will perish. The dwarves dare not attack, as they fear for the life of their beloved queen.
So, the dwarves regularly sends sturdy stouts to the surface in search of sapphires to please the extortive wyrm.
Recently, the dragon agreed to free the queen for the hefty sum of one thousand sapphires. To ensure that the queen was indeed still alive, the dwarves were allowed an audience with her. After that, they began sending “gemseekers” out in the world.
Folinar Thunderaxe was one of those young stouts who had been given the honor, choosing closeby Isinhold to start his search for sapphires. Armed with his father’s mighty waraxe, he set out on his perilous journey. The axe came to be an extension of Folinar’s axe-arm, always caring for and working meticulously on it to keep it battle-ready at all times. The dwarf's manners may not please many, often breaking wind due to his love for eating onions. He speaks with a foul breath and drinks whenever he can. Nevertheless, his heart and intentions are purely good and he upholds the traditional dwarven honor and reliability.
Upon setting foot in Isinhold, he befriended the human knight Isabella and also two halflings called Poppy and Rosaline.
What is to become of Folinar’s quest remains to be witnessed.
