I will have a problem with the schedule again. I was asked and i said saturdays don't work for me and late starts don't wirk for me. It is really sad, becaause my chaarcter hasn't got much gold and already bought the expensive badge. Have i spent the gold for nothing now? Hi True, I moved the When Shields Meet performance to Sunday with you in mind. Please send me a PM of what time works for you and what you're interested in and we'll see what we can do. I can't make any promises but we'll give it consideration.

The couriers and town criers of Immersea and the Shieldmeet Tournament call attention to the rescheduling between the Sharpshooter's Eye, Bowman's Range and the Sharpshooter's Eye, Marksman's Range contest.
Due to the turn out at the Ranges on the first eve of the Shieldmeet, the Bowman's Range event was postponed and the Marksman's Range was brought forward and completed.
The Shieldmeet Schedule has been updated to reflect this change.

I ask because in the events description, the Bareknuckle brawl is a free for all for all levels... but there is also the three tiered event for brawling as well. You're correct. I updated the the schedule to show the Blazing Hand, which is the broader category for all of the hand-to-hand contests.

Just curious, is there a reason why some events are so many hours long? do we have to be there sharp, is it several of the same event, or is it staggered. This is to space out the events where we can to make sure they have enough time and allow roleplay between them. The schedule can (and has) changed due to technical difficulties, duration of events, and turnout. Where possible, it's a good idea to attempt to arrive early for an event but also to check in from time to time as where is potential for slippage when things go long or wrong.

Theres no time scheduled for Bloazing hand? just the Big knuckle brawl? Or am I too worked out to read properly? I listed them as the Bareknuckle Brawls on the 30th at 10 PM US Central. I'll correct the time table to say Blazing Hand.

It's hard to resist saying words. Flamerule only has 30 days. There is no 31 Flamerule. 31 July serves as both Midsummer AND Shieldmeet on FRC, two calendar days that follow Flamerule. (Shieldmeet only every four years.) I know that the Proboards BBCode tables are royal pains so I wouldn't ask you to change it. I'm just pointing it out for calendar canon clarity. (I could change it though, if you wanted?) No thanks

Faerex and Cormex couriers ride out from Immersea first to Suzail and Arabel, then beyond to the cities of Valkur's Roar, and Marsember. From there they ride to the towns and hamlets from Eveningstar and Espar to Shallybrook and Greatgaunt. Where they ride, the couriers trumpet the coming games of Shieldmeet, Year of the Blazing Hand, to be held on the 29th of Flamerule through the 1st of Elesias (July 29 to August 1st).
Unfurling lengthy scrolls, the heralds cry out the coming games sponsored by the City of Immersea and House Thundersword...

The herald watched as the last pair of applicants and the elf departed the tavern. The Thundersword scion and his henchmen had already returned to the villa. As he crossed the common room of the Five Fine Fish he found it quiet and still. That is, if one tuned out the kilted bard and the massive understudy's tambourine.
Now perched on a stool at the end of the bar, he ordered a mug of ale. Sipping the brew, his mind turned through the candidates and the wide walks of life they represented. He thought of vows upheld and broken, an orphan child, a green leaf in spring, a full moon, and the maintenance of a long pony tail.
Only a few more and he'd have to choose.
There's a tear in my beer...
He flipped a silver to the barkeep and made for the door, his mug of ale half-empty and wholly forgotten.
The contest was on.
Hail Cormytes!
If anyone wasn't able to make the interview window today and would like for their character to apply for one of the Shieldmeet Offices, please send me a PM so that we can coordinate a time this week.

Hi folks,
I just did a little forum moderation here to take out some tension.
To this, I'll add:
It's up to each individual to determine for themselves whether a cause is appropriate or not for a donation, including due diligence.
The FRC staff as a body does not endorse, validate, or invalidate charities or requests for help in the real world.
The FRC forum is a privilege for community members to share in the hobby we love and interact with each other. This board on our forum, Off Topic Fun, is for community members to interact about things other than NWN or FRC.
In the spirit of compassion we have allowed posts asking for help to be made, past and present. However, it's always up to any potential donor to decide for themselves whether or not a request for help is valid and appropriate for donation.
