Hey, just an idea kicking around my head. Is there any reason FRC would not allow a char that is interested in all forms of magic, so takes classes as a wizard/priest/druid? Obviously this would never be a powerful char, but sheerly for rp purposes would it be acceptable? I don't even know if i'm going to roll him up since taran and reyvan already take all my play time but just curious. thanks a lot.

There are no rules against it, and I think it's a good idea. I am personally into characters who lack in true might, and are more powerful through their own importance for reasons of influence/lore.

Not a DM but I can't see there being a problem. Priests of Mystra would be most likely. Not sure what background story you would need to throw three in. I've heard about people on other servers that play the hot head power obsessed types that have taken Mage/Sorc. They give up the power of high spells for ungodly numbers of spells. They walk into an area and go off like the 4th of July for minutes. Can't see us wanting that but Priest/Mage crosses sound fine. rite.

If you're planning to go wizard/cleric/druid, just remember that druids have a limited deity list so you'll be limited to the druid deities.

Exaclty, it's the deity thing that's giving me a hard time. I was trying to find a nature deity that allows either knowledge, magic, or something slightly wizardy in it's portfolio but wasn't having much luck. I figure the priest part would be easy, just take domains of animal or plant and something else that coincides, but are there any nature deities that would also at least allow if not encourage arcane casting? I was mainly concerned how strict the deity policy would be, as in could it rped that a wizard "saw the light" and decided to become devoted to nature but still maintain his interest in the arcane?, or would that mean he would have to give up his wizardiness? Or

Reply posted by player that has to do with "strong builds" rather than whether the class combos are allowed: Sorc/Mage is not that bad, tbh. They're great at a high number of spells, yes, but their spell DCs suck hard and they need to trade off feats to compensate. My one char who follows that path has a tendency to take all the crafting feats instead...and maybe some levels of RDD if he gets a chance IC. Heh, right now, he's depressed he missed the dragon.
Cleric/Mage on the other hand is one of the most wicked, nastiest powergamer comboes I know of. Those guys can kill anything and tend to be virtually unkillable(sick saves, loads of buffs and WMDs as well as an anti-magic arsenal. A Cleric/Wizard(Abjurer/Necromancer)? SCARY). Heh, I'd be more wary of them
Since shifter is banned, anything with druid is limited, which means going that way may be "safer". And opts for some pretty interesting stories, too. Well, they all do, if you're creative...
OK, now I have to try them all. I really shouldn't read back pages, I get ideas :X |

In the DM Q&A section, if you want to respond to someone, send your message to a DM. If it's relevant to the question, a DM will post it for you.
He was asking about whether the class combination was allowed, not whether it would be powerful, so in this case your reply wasn't relevant.
