I have been playing on FRC for about a year now… ::)and I finally decided I need to get a better understanding of the emotes. I would like to fill my “slots” with commands. The opening slots have all my weapons and potions etc.. but I see that there are also slots under shift and control. I have played with it and added a couple .. hello, nod, bow.. etc.. BUT.. what I am wondering is how to add the commands when you hit the “V” button. Is it possible to add those commands? Also I saw where it will allow you to add your own sayings, how is that done? I was told by a friend every time he tried it, it would Shout his “statement”. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you use "V-commands" to emote it doesn't actually move your character any way, just uses the soundset voice slot according the decision. For example if you laugh you can do it...well three ways: 1) Type *Laughs* and if there is an invisible "voice" around it makes you laugh and you'll also make the emote with your character 2) Right click your character and go into the emotes and choose laugh there, which causes your character do it exactly as above except others can only hear and see it from your movement, there won't be any written message that you laugh (unless with several soundsets) 3) Type V - X -W which causes you do nothing but the laughing voice, no emote and no writing (again unless with the special soundsets). Basically some prefer this above others because it's fastest way to do it. None of these ways make you "shout" the message thought, I'm not sure how your friend managed to shout the things since I have no clue how he could've done it without using shout as base text Hope that helps.

You right click on the quickslot and chose custom text macro. It is straight up in the 12:00 position of the radial dial. It will ask for a label. This is a short description of what that button does so you know which button to choose. For example type checks arrows. Next it will ask for the command. This is the part that will cause the shout (on other mods) if not set up correctly. Type in /tk *pulls arrows out of quiver one by one and checks them*Now you have a custom emote! If you want a custom speech just leave off the * * from the command. If you don't type in /tk it will shout as a default. We have player shout turned off in our mod so no worries there.

The customs are great. I regularly use them , at least 3 per character, for their own "pattened" sayings, such as battle cries, actions, and phrases.
As an example: Kaya, my bard, *sings*, *humms*, or *whistles* When not actively RPing a particular song and walking about town.
They come in rather handy. Miraster, my, well..evil necromancer mage, uses things like: "You fool...let's see if youll serve me better in death, than in life", And *Takes a wand from his left sleeve, and points it*
They are great for spicing up yu usual character interaction in battle as well. Adding in a *grunts* *swings mightily* and an occaisinal *ow* might be ideas...
