Sometime during mid-day a leather parchment is tacked up next to the board downstairs in the Regal Griffon Inn. The following has been written on it:
Sweet words and light laughter All from a serpent's tongue
Smiles to come from fanged mouth Trust will be sundered and undone
What practiced lies do they say All to simply have their way
Watch your backs, carry your potions The whip the serpent carries is still barbed
Beneath it, painted in gray, is the symbol of a fox's head.
Meanwhile a day or so later in Shallybrook found left on the large stone next to the campfire in Mystra's Grove is yet another leather parchment, held down by a rock. This one has the symbol of a fox's head painted in gray, but in it's "maw" is a crested moon and on it's forehead a single star. Under it are these words:
What ears hear the fox's howls anymore?

A figure shrouded in dark robes strides through the Regal Griffon, tucking his hooded veil tightly downward to conceal his appearance. He stops suddenly in his tracks and slowly reads the parchment, murmuring almost insanely to himself. The figure turns abruptly and leers to Sam the Cook for a moment uttering some more, almost spitting as he speaks inaudibly under his breath.
He rips down the flyer quickly without taking a second glance at it, squeezing it in a fist before tucking it into a pouch.

The Bard, Darkharp comes across the message in Mystra's grove and reads over it carefully, his keen eyes observing the new symbols added to the gray fox's mark. He leaves it undisturbed where it rests, but copies the short message onto a sheet of parchment along with it's symbols.
After near an hour of quiet contemplation of the words, he rolls the parchment up and slips it into a scrollcase with a large collection of crumpled old messages containing the same mark; or near the same mark. Eventually he slips away from the campfire and heads on to Mystra's temple.
