Just a bit of fun, here!
Imitating the success of a similar thread I recall, I thought I'd ask everyone to tell the community what song reminds them of their own characters or others. It can be the lyrics, or even just the feel/sound of the song.
So, think hard! What song do you think sings of a character of yours or another player's.
I'll kick it off with one for a character which isn't mine, and two for mine.
Firstly, for Haylin, the lyric-less Still Reprise by Hans Zimmer, for the Black Hawk Down Soundtrack has a kind of subdued, proud yet melancholy feel to it which would fit Haylin perfectly, were he staring out his inn window in a moment of thought.
For Warfish, two songs have a sound and feel which match Mr. Fish perfectly. The lyrics are what really wins it, though. Both really capture what 'Fish's mentality is all about.
First, there's Steely Dan's Fire in the Hole:
---------
After that, there's the legendary Ace of Spades by Motorhead, which may as well be sung by Fish himself!

The first two songs that came to mind for Lydia were
My lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It) by En Vogue
and
I Touch Myself by The Divinyls
Another one would be
Mouth by Merril Bainbridge
Lydia has intimacy issues. :-P

Warning: You may want to skip this post... Some of these lyrics are angry and can be offensive. Slithe, Disciple of Baalzebul:
Nine Inch Nails - Heresyhe sewed his eyes shut because he is afraid to see he tries to tell me what i put inside of me he's got the answers to ease my curiosity he dreamed a god up and called it christianity
god is dead and no one cares if there is a hell i'll see you there
he flexed his muscles to keep his flock of sheep in line he made a virus that would kill off all the swine his perfect kingdom of killing, suffering and pain demands devotion atrocities done in his name
god is dead and no one cares if there is a hell i'll see you there your god is dead and no one cares if there is a hell i'll see you there god is dead and no one cares if there is a hell i'll see you there god is dead and no one cares drowning in his own hypocrisy and if there is a hell i'll see you see you there
burning with your god in humility will you die for this?Seviira, Follower of Shar:
Nine Inch Nails - The Wretchedjust a reflection just a glimpse just a little reminder of all the what abouts and all the might have could have beens
another day some other way but not another reason to continue and now you're one of us the wretched
the hopes and prays the better days the far aways forget it
it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to, did it? it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to, did it?
now you know this is what it feels like now you know this is what it feels like
the clouds will part and the sky cracks open and god himself will reach his *bleep-itty-bleep*ing arm through just to push you down just to hold you down
stuck in this hole with the *bleep* and the piss and it's hard to believe it could come down to thisback at the beginning sinking spinning
and in the end we still pretend the time we spend not knowing when you're finally free and you could be
but it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to it didn't turn out quite the way that you wanted it
now you know this is what it feels like now you know this is what it feels like
you can try to stop it but it keeps on coming you can try to stop it butMelkroth Malice, Palemaster of Velsharoon:
Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's DeadWhite on white translucent black capes back on the rack
Bela Lugosi's dead
The bats have left the bell tower The victims have been bled Red velvet lines the black box
Bela Lugosi's dead
Undead undead undead
The virginal brides file past his tomb Strewn with time's dead flowers Bereft in deathly bloom Alone in a darkened room The count
Bela Logosi's dead
Undead undead undead

I found one for Vind
Its a country song by some guy...i dont listen to much country but this one has a good ring to it. Its called drinking bone
"Well it's Friday evenin' six o'clock And all my friends are twistin' off I'm at the house just turnin' on T.V. And they all wonder why I've changed How many times must I explain It's basic honky tonk anatomy
The drinkin' bone is connected to the party bone The party bone's connected to the stayin' out all night long And she won't think it's funny And I'll wind up all alone And the lonely bone's connected to the drinkin' bone
Hey two plus two is always four And down is south and up is north Thirty-two degrees is freezing cold and, You play with fire you wind up burned The early-bird gets the worm But the only thing you really need to know Is...
The drinkin' bone is connected to the party bone The party bone's connected to the stayin' out all night long And she won't think it's funny And I'll wind up all alone And the lonely bone's connected to the drinkin' bone
Hey sing it with me Let's make sure you know....
The drinkin' bone is connected to the party bone The party bone's connected tot he stayin' out all ngiht long And she won't think it's funny And I'll wind up all alone And the lonely bone's connected the the....
The drinkin' bone is connected to the party bone The party bone's connected to the stayin' out all night long And she won't think it's funny And I'll wind up all alone And the lonely bone's connected to the drinkin' bone "

I have to put my two coppers in on this. (like i do on everything else.) Guldar Caverholme would hafta be Drunk Again by Reel Big Fish which is a good song about ummmm, well, beer. There is also a song called No beer in Heaven(that is why we drink it all here), an old Irish drinking song that reminds me of him. Punk Rockgirl by the Dead Milkmen, that is so Valla. And there is a song called by Stephen Lynch that reminds me of a certain player whose main guy is a druid with mutton chops. Though Padrin himself reminds me of an old Jimmy Cliff song but i cannot remember the name of it. Oh, and for Ranan, i think the song by Lustra called Scotty Doesnt know would be perfect for him.

Son'ya song is easy one...most of you heard it from me over X-mas but...
band: Battle lore
album: Where the shadows lie
song is: The Green Maid
Green shades of the elven wood Covers her face so pale Those eyes like a stars in the night Her hair like a golden flame Gods of wisdom and fortune Have blessed her with their gifts no earthly creature can ever reach A beauty like hers Young elven knights come to her There's so much love to share But still she's awaiting the one The one with a mortal way
They meet in the shadows No eyes will see their embrace Again she's awaiting he to come She's so desperate her heart can't lay
The evil has lurked in the realm Dark creatures have come with the death When black blade reaches her heart And all the life is gone He has lost his everything Pain and agony, that's all left now on Way of the fate is cruel Through tears he curses his gods
With grief he left those woods His sorrow turns to hate By his blood he swears the oath He will fight it's never too late
All his sacrifices Can't be for nothing Way of the sword Is the price they'll have to pay Her endless beauty Stays forever in his heart Her soul now in Mandos But his love will never be gone

Well... I haven't given much thought to anything else... but I like to think that Vorta fits this bill... if not a few others... fits a back story few people know about.
Reluctantly crouched at the starting line Engines pumping and thumping in time The green light flashes, the flags go up Churning and burning they yearn for the cup
They deftly manuver and muscle for rank Fuels burning fast on an empty tank Reckless and wild, they pour through the turns Their prowess is potent and secretly stern
As they speed through the finish, the flags go down The fans get up and they get out of town The arena is empty except for one man Still driving and striving as fast as he can
The sun has gone down and the moon has come up Not long ago somebody left with the cup But he's driving and striving an hugging the turns And thinking of someone for who he still burns
He's going the distance He's going for speed She's all alone, all alone, all alone in a time of need
Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse He's going the distance
No trophies, no flowers, no flashbulbs, no lime He's haunted by something he cannot define Bowel shaking earthquakes of doubt and remorse Assail him and bail him with monster truck force
In his mind he's still driving, still making the grade She's hoping in time that her memories will fade 'Cause he's racing and pacing and plotting the course He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse
The sun has gone down and the moon has come up Not long ago somebody left with the cup But he's striving and driving and hugging the turns And thinking of someone for who he still burns
'Cause he's going the distance, He's going for speed She's all alone All alone All alone In a time of need
Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse He's racing and pacing and plotting the course He's fighting and biting and ridding on his horse He's going the distance He's going for speed He's going the distance
