I just purchased a new computer. I installed NWN and tried to enter FRC but... can't enter multiplayer. I always left 'remember password' checked on the old PC and now I don't know my user password. Does anyone know of a way I can retrieve it?

I believe you can check out the Bioware website. I do believe they have a password retrieval link there. Just as long as you have access to the e-mail it was originally tied to, you should be able to get it back. *nodnods*
EDIT: ARG! Was beat to the punch! AND with a link to boot! I was pwned!

*sigh* Now I can connect to gamespy and all, but still can't log in to FRC or any other server. I keep getting a message saying that my user name was refused or something like that (I don't remember the exact words, I'm at work now...) Does anyone know what's wrong?

Not sure about the other servers, but do make sure to put in the password when you enter FRC. Password is marsember. No capital letters.
Also check which version of NWN you are running. Get it all up to date. And make sure you have all the expansion sets and CEP2.

I've done all that. Password, version is right, I have CEP2 and expansions... I don't know what else could be wrong.

Write down the exact message you get when you try to log on and post it here. Maybe that will let us see what's wrong.

Okay, so here's exactly what's happening. I could connect to gamespy yesterday, but still couldn't log on to FRC or any other server. Odd enough, I can't connect to gamespy again today. Don't know what's happening. I get the following messages. When I type my user name and password, I get "Could not connect to Master Server. Some multiplayer services may not be available." If I ignore it, I immediatly get the following "Gamespy timeouy error, please retry" Retrying doesn't work either... If I ignore all of the above and still try to log on to FRC through the lan thing, I get exactly as follows "Attempting to find server. Server found. Attempting to log in. Connection to server has failed. Connection error: Your player name has been refused by the server." Seems something is really wrong...

I'm not sure it would help, but try disabling your firewall.

Yep, windows firewall sounds like the nasty.
Start-->All Programs-->Accessories-->System Tools-->Security Center, click "Windows Firewall" at the bottom, then turn it off.
If that was your only protection, you were kidding yourself anyway.

Sounds like a Firewall issue alright. Also, "sometimes" Gamespy is extra horrible and gives you that Master Server message for no apparent reason. I've tried it plenty of times, although restarting either the game or the computer usually rectified it.
Someone posted something about adding something ( yeah, real specific I know ) to a shortcut to your game, thus bypassing Gamespy or something like that. Maybe you should have a go at that too...

I tried deactivating the windows firewall but it still does not work. And what's worse, now I get a message of "Invalid user name or password" when I click Multiplayer and put in my user name and password. It seems that something is really unstable here, 'cause I've been getting a different message every time I try.

At this point you should most likely make a post to the bioware forums for tech support.

I hate my PC. Out of nothing, it worked yesterday. Seems I have a moody computer. I really have no idea what the hell is wrong, I just hope it keeps working...

Ah yes, the second-most common reson for any problem, right after the Windows Firewall: The Moody Computer... With 'Lousy ISP' coming at a close third place...
