A letter and bottle of liquor arrives at the old estate of Sophie Miller, sealed with a shimmering emerald eye that dissipates as the letter is opened.
"My dearest Lady Calamity,
I know the sentiment may be tiring but I feel compelled to press to parchment that which has been at the forefront of my mind ever since my first visit to our fair city a tenday or so ago. You have my deepest condolences for the lost of your friend and truest companion, the late Sophie Miller. Hers was a bright light that was able to bring cheer and joy to even the grimiest and shadiest corners of our oft depressing world. I can only imagine however, that she is laughing her way through the after life with bottle in hand as she looks down upon our mortal existence and sees you causing your fellow nobles and council members to squirm in their seats. Such is the way I choose to envision her soul in these trying times.
It is with this sentiment expressed that I hope you might have me over as I once had Sophie over to chat and drink. I know I cannot provide the same level of kinship but I can atest to some familiarity and profound joy with Sophie's mannerisms. It would be nice to sit around one evening and reminisce with another like minded soul about the life our dearest friend left behind.
