Beldan stood in the stone chamber chained to the floor. He whimpered sorrowfully as the interrogator told him to confess. "Confess and this can all be over," the bald man stated through the barred window of the cell door. Beldan's eyes darted about the room as it began to spin. His mind reeled about as whispers behind him told him what he did. No matter how he twisted and turned the accusing voices were there telling him how he killed the Khazark's brother and his tracker companion. "It felt so good to kill that Thayan scum," the whisper said, "Spilling their blood was the greatest moment of my life! I let the orc go because Thayans are worse than orcs!"
The interrogator asked, "There doesn't it feel better to admit your crimes?"
It was in that moment that Beldan realized the whisper wasn't behind him it was his own voice whispering. He shouted, "What are you doing to me?"
As a door to the window of the cell slid shut the man on the other side chuckled and replied, "Getting the truth."
