Personality
At first Vladislak appears to be a stoic, silent warrior. But those of keen perception will notice that he is constantly observing and making mental notes about what goes on around him.
History
Vladislak was born to a Rashemi woman who served as a house slave to a lower-end noble family. She was an attentive and well-liked servant and thus was afforded a few graces many other in her position would never have. One is that she was able to bring her son into the house with her while she worked. Vlad didn't mind this and was more than willing to help his mother out with some of the chores, but when the master's son, Azzedar, wanted to play, Vlad was there. Azzedar was a pompus young noble with a mind for magic and he knew that one day he would become a Red Wizard. And the young Mulani would proclaim that he would make Vlad his personal knight so that they could travel together.
When Azzedar was old enough to be sent to train in the ways of the Red Wizards, Vlad was left behind in his servitude. As he aged into his teens however, he continued to grow and grow. Eventually, he opted to join the Thayan armies and while he was a large specimen, he was just a human and the more monstrous races were first to the line for fighting. But that left him in positions that required thought. Vlad was rotated between guard stations at the various escarpments. Not an exciting life, but one he found satisfaction with.
One day in his mid-twenties, he was pulled from his station and given orders to travel to the Kingdom of Cormyr to assist the efforts there. The orders were quite vague as to what he'd be doing there but at the bottom of the letter, the orders were given by a Red Wizard named Azzedar. His childhood friend had freed him to explore the world while still serving his country.
