Physical Description: He stands nearer to 7 feet tall than 6 with a large frame and impressive musculature. He carries himself with a grace that belies his size. He is lightly armored and typically carries a bastard sword and quiver of arrows strapped to his back, and a short sword on his left hip. He has no tattoos or any ritualistic scars upon his visible skin unlike many half-orcs. Closer inspection would reveal many tiny scars covering his body, a reasonable guess would suggest they may have been caused by many years of traveling through dense forests. Anyone getting close enough would notice his scent reminds them of a forest after a spring rain. Upon meeting him a person might find him to be quiet and stand offish. This is due to the reactions he has received in the past caused by his blood as well as his size and physique.
Like most half-orcs, Mannot is the product of the rape of a human woman by an orc male. His mother was very resentful of Mannot, and he was given his name as a cruel reminder of his mother's resentment towards him. "You are not a man, you are Mannot" she would remind him often. Born into the barbarian tribe of the White Worm, the people of the tribe had no love for the orcs who would routinely raid them to rape and pillage. Most unwanted pregnancies of these couplings were aborted before they came to term or the babies were left to the elements to die when they were born. However Mannot's mother was a follower of the Crying God and felt it was her burden to raise the half breed.
Growing up Mannot was routinely beaten by his peers and even the adults of the tribe. As he grew older his orc blood gave him strength and endurance that outpaced that of the human children, and soon it was common for the other children to gang up on him in groups of three or four to inflict their beatings. During one such attack Mannot seriously wounded another child, Urkhor. For this he was cast out of the tribe.
Outcast, he wandered for several days through the plains surrounding the village until he came to the city of Valls. Angry at his treatment by the people of his tribe Mannot found himself living on the streets of Valls utilizing his size and strength to take what he wanted from the residents of the city. In all likelihood Mannot would have died in Valls after living a short and violent life had it not been for Gareth Dragonsbane and the Bloodstone Wars.
Gareth Dragonsbane was conscripting able bodied men into their armies to fight the Witch-King. Apparently his orran heritage was less of a concern when it came to fighting. Caring nothing about the conflict Mannot fled Valls and eventually wound up in the Earthwood forest. By the time he arrived there he was in poor shape and would have died had he not been taken in by a kindly priestess of Meilikki who lived within the forest.
The priestess saw past the anger young Mannot radiated and eventually taught him to live with the land and to appreciate nature and all of nature's creatures, including fellow sentients. While he did not have the affinity for nature that the kindly druid did, he found his own harmony with nature by embracing Meilikki and becoming one of her rangers. With his newfound harmony and appreciation of nature, Mannot decided to seek out Gareth Dragonsbane's armies and assist in defeating the unnatural Witch-King.
Upon the defeat of the Witch-King Mannot assisted the organization known as Spysong as a scout, making friends of many others within the organization along the way. During a solo mission for Spysong Mannot came upon a young woman by the name of Magrit, who was a dancer at a local tavern in Bloodstone Village. Sitting in a dark corner of the inn sipping on his dwarven ale his attention was drawn to an altercation upon the stage between the dancer and a local noble. Growling at the maltreatment of the woman he approached and broke up the argument. Apparently the noble had taken a fancy to Magrit but had since then found out that she had orran blood and was incensed, feeling that she had somehow deceived him and tricked him into desiring one with orc blood coursing through their veins. Because of the noble's powerful connections in the city Mannot decided to escort Magrit back to Ostra where she had family. Somewhere along the way the two fell in love and eventually married. Their marriage produced two fine boys, Terk the older and Talyn the younger. The couple gave their boys the last name of Trueblood, to reflect the fact that they were the product of two loving half orc parents, and not the byproduct of the violent act that most often resulted in such children.
