Finally started posting some pics... gallery.greatestjournal.com/thumbnails.php?album=231171Some are funny, some are odd, and some are just random. A few will have to be clicked on and enlarged to read the text, but other than that... Enjoy! Also, if anyone want to see some of my LARP pics, just let me know and I'll post a link for them as well.

While I personally don't LARP, I'm a Rennie I wouldn't mind seeing some

The "Fight In The Underdark" you mention a really sweet bar... *takes the opportunity to boost his ego* Would this happen to be the ManyAsOne-created "Unfortunate Orc"?
I gotta find this place myself. I've no clue where Justicar tossed it. ;D

Yup! The Unfortunate Orc. It was so SWEET! Like I said, I wish I had the pics of it... Oh well... Perhaps another trip down there is needed... After all, Torian's suggested she might want to live there one day...
As for the night elves, yeah... The whole idea behind their make up is that they are extremely pale (the white make-up) and have two tattoos. The one over the right eye is the family symbol. The one on the left is a magical symbol that seems to change with the person's mood. The interesting thing about the night elves is they are close relation to drow. At some point in history, there was an internal struggle and a group left the drow community. This new group took on a new goddess in the shape of a scorpion and vowed revenge up thier brethren. Thus the night elves were born.

Yeah. I have that pic of Torian on the Fugue as my desktop background. It's just so desolate, lonely, dark... Truly beautiful.

man... if only I had the time/money to larp. Then I could drag Spooks, and we could have a field day ;D
But seriously, very nice pictures. What style of staff fighting did you take?

Actually, I've never fought with a staff before in my life. Most of the other weapons are easy enough to use (I mean, how hard is it to swing a "sword" at someone?), but the staff can be a clumsy weapon. My two 'mentors' were trying to show me and the other lady just some basic moves that could help us out. We are both spell casters, and so they showed us ways to use the staff to block weapons and hold people off so that we could cast spells. I'm still really clumsy with it, but one thing I like is that if the staff is knocked out of my hands, 'sundered,' or 'fumbled' (whether by spell or other means), my character has her claws she can beat on people with. I wish I had pictures from the tournament we had before the feast... The very first tournament (double elimination) they pitted me up against a gal I REALLY don't like (the only pic I have of her is the one where she's wearing the green tabard with the black guy) and she was seriously kicking my butt when she said the one thing you don't say to the cat race I'm playing... People learned then that just 'cause I appear calm, cool, and collected, doesn't mean I can't beat you down in an instant.

Also, I haven't had a chance to say great job on these screenies, so... Great Job! Very enjoyable presentation of both the Server and the LARP... looks like a blast.

as quoted by Napolean Dynomite "I'm pretty good with a bow staff" ;D You've also peaked my curiosity bout LARP fighting? Is it based on your non-character "real life" fighting skills? or are you handicapped on what you can or cannot do based on your character? If you could give me the lowdown on some of this I would be very grateful for your time

I'm more than happy to talk about the LARP! *gets super ego boost*
For fighting, you can use any knowledge you have. The only requirments (because of safety issues) is that you bring your weapon back at least 45 degrees before each strike and to strike at half your actual strength. I don't think there's any rules about tripping (like with a staff or something), just be wary of what they might be falling into or on top of. Also, no machine-gunning (hitting rapidly in succession without pulling back the 45 degrees) or "hugging" (getting really close to someone and wrapping your arm around them for back shots).
As for actual weapons, for the most part any class can have any weapon (except Virtue Casters. They are limited to blunt weapons only) and some races are required to have a weapon and will get the 'ability' at a lower than normal cost for other races.
Oh, and for those in the North/South Carolina/Virginia area, ya'll can try out the LARP I'm in for free your first gather. It's $30 after that (food is not included in fee, but feel free to bring and cook your own or buy from our lovely tavern whenches). And really, compared to the other LARPs in the area (SOLAR, NERO, Avalon, and a few others) we are, by far, the cheapest as far as playing cost.
