*a letter is sent to Kale at the Regal Griffon, but addressed to the Greatgaunt council as a whole, it's sealed in burgundy colored wax and stamped with the letters M.C., within is written in fine penmanship* To the Council of Greatgaunt,
Greetings to you from the Office of the City Interior in Valkur's Roar. Me hopes your ever constant trials and tribulations that beleaguer the town be at a minimum this season.
Perhaps you have seen the fliers put up about a Merchant's and Crafter's Faire to be conducted on the 4th of Nightal in Valkur's Roar. It will be open to any and all to open a stall and sell they wares and hopefully make connections with other crafters and frequent buyers.
It were suggested that this would be a good time to reach out to your town and ask if a representative can be sent to offer the chance to get a Merchant's License. There could be some merchants or merchant hopefuls who have not had the opportunity or even be aware that such be needed in order to sell on Cormyrian soil.
If you can send someone over on that day then it would be greatly appreciated. Let me know and we can set up a small desk and chair for your representative to work from. Me be also willing to pay for travel and food expenses if that be the going concern.
Me hope to hear from you soon.
In Luck and Death,MCMynian CopperhandMinister of the City Interior, Valkur's Roar//OOC this idea was suggested by Dorf and they are very right that it is a great time to have PCs get a Merchant's License if they haven't had the chance to yet. If any DM wants to poke a nose in during the Merchant's Faire to have a representative from GG drop by and offer it, then by all means please do! Check this thread for date and times and Game on!

// Just an OOC heads-up from a former DM. The merchant licenses have never been limited to issuance in Greatgaunt after they became Cormyrean Merchant Licenses. (They started in Isinhold but spread to the entire kingdom.) They can be issued by any of the municipal governing bodies of Cormyr. I have personally issued merchant licenses at the Great Hall in Valkur's Roar and the Courthouse in Suzail. (Since Kale is only in Greatgaunt, the transaction was handled by a random clerk NPC in the other locations, usually a subordinate to the local court clerk.) Of course policy could have changed since I left the Team.
