I can't log on to the forum from my computer. Getting error 1008. It says the owner of this website (frc.proboards.com) has banned your ip address.

I have been running into issues with "Player name has been refused" a few times now. Not sure if it has anything to do with an update I did yesterday.

What happens and this was from *cough* "experience" is the log on name you use. For example the first time you log on after a reset you use Mysticalkas and log on successfully. You log out and next time you type mysticalkas you will get that message. The difference may be as small as using a capital letter one time and not the other. If you make a typo then you need to keep making the same typo to log on until next reset. Now this might not be the issue in you case but I know from experience that forgetting a capital letter can instigate this message.
Hope that helps

I thought that got changed a while ago, and now it lets you log in with a differently spelled name, but your characters (if played under a different name since the last reset) just get sent to a room in limbo without any supper?

What DM Raven said is correct, but I believe it also takes you to a “Holding Box” on the server and in Yellow Letters tells you what to do and how to log in correctly.
What I believe this problem is referring to is that you are trying to sign on with a name that has been reserved by another. For instance, if someone tried to logon as AnvilX they should not be allowed because its mine for 16 years. I am not sure this is done with new logon names, but I believe it is still in effect for older ones. So, you probably tried to use an older name without knowing it had been reserved.
Hope this helps.

Grivel's issue is (was) a Proboards IP ban, possibly caused and then resolved by their ISP changing their IP address to one Proboards has banned for some reason or another.
Mysticalkas issue is possibly (not 100% sure, as not enough details really provided) the old NWN:EE issue where if you don't save your name to always use (and have to change it via settings.tml) it sometimes treats your username as "default" or blank even if you typed something else into the username box and complains that the username is refused as already assigned to another players cdkey.
Malclave is correct, if you change your username you get moved into Limbo if you're on a new username.

Not sure if it has anything to do with an update I did yesterday. We probably should have asked this first... update to what? NWN, Windows, or something else?

I am not sure exactly where it is in the command console but there is an option where you can put in your name as "permanent log in".
It will associate it with any character you have under that account name. It survives reset.
I have had no problem.

This had nothing to do with my log in to the game. Just the Proboard forum.

It was a windows update that I just did. I was able to log on to alt accounts just not my mysticalkas one. It was fixed after a reboot, and another reboot, and playing single version, then another reboot....not sure what did it but it worked.

I think that was supposed to be cookie, not coolie. Try cleaning out your browser cookies in case some pixies got in there.
